Hahaha...sorry...just saw the first post....lol...anyhoo..if, in the network connection panel, the icon for 2comps is showing correctly(is even there) then you are ready to connect...you just need to install the modem drivers for your modem/router. follow the wizard prompts, give it the info that your isp gave you..login details etc... let it finish..modem will reboot and then you should be connected. make sure your ethernet/usb cable is connected as well...let us know how you go on that.

Very possible you don't have the correct ethernet driver. Try looking up the driver off the manufacturer of you computers website. It will be listed as a "network driver". Good luck!

Occasionally I receive a message when I am trying to download or install a programme etc. The message tells me to insert the Windows XP Home Edition disc? The problem is that my PC was purchased (from PC...

I think you have these options:-
1. Explain your problem to PC World and see if they can help.
2. Borrow a Windows XP Home Edition disc from a friend.
3. Download a Windows XP Home Edition disc from the internet. I don't know how legal this is, but as you have already got the legal copy installed and are only using the disc to install other programs you might be OK.

Cannot connect to the internet following activation of XP

did you activate the Windows Xp when you installed the XP Operating system?
you have 30 days to activate the XP, if not you will have limited use till you input the genuine serial key.
if the display changed after the activation, chance are you machine have being hijacked.
I would just take it off line and try to clean the infection.

I cannot get usb to work when i install xp on computer

Reinstall windows to solve this problem... Because if your USB's are not installed then you will not ever able to install any new usb hardware with your Pc!

also change the windows version i:e if you are using windows Xp home edition then try to install Windows Xp professional editon instead.

I am sure that this will solve your problem!
