Browse through the CD to Drivers -> windows 2000_XP .
Select the file hppcp504.cab , and click OK .
The error message "The Software that you are trying to install has not passed the windows Logo Test " appears. Click Continue Anyway .
If the error message "hpc20155.xml on HP LaserJet P2015 Series CD is needed " appears again, follow steps 1-3.
The required files are copied, and the driver is installed and ready to use.
If the issue still persists then perform the following in the order listed before trying to reinstall the software.
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Windows Update.
Set the option to Never search Windows Update for drivers .
NOTE:
It is important to re-enable the Windows Update function after installing the printer software, otherwise the updates for all the other software on this computer will be blocked.
After disabling Windows Update, complete the following steps. Be sure to reenable Windows update after installing the software:
Disconnect the USB cable and remove the device listing from Device Manager
Go to Start ->All programs ->HP ->P2015 ->Uninstall , "OR" Go to Add & Remove and check for the P2015 and uninstall .
Then go to Printer & Faxes . Select the HP LJ P2015 icon and press the Delete button on the keyboard. After deleting the printer icon, go to File and Server properties . Go to Drivers tab and remove any P2015 drivers if listed.
Also delete the following files/ folders C:\programfiles\HP\toolbox Fx or P2015 C:\documents & settings\app data\tool box Fx
Run the scrubber.exe . Find this on the cd X:\utils\ccc\scrubber.exe & scrubber.ini NOTE:
The Scrubber utility can also be downloaded from the web if the original installation CD is not available. However, it is only available as part of the full software installation package named hp_LJ_P2015_Full_Solution_AMWE.exe on hp.com . Once the files are extracted to a folder just open the util folder then the ccc folder and the scrubber.exe file will be visible.
Paste these files at the following path and run the scrubber.exeC:\windows\system32\
Empty the recycle bin
Turn the printer back on.
Now install the printer software again. Connect the communication cable to the PC and printer when prompted during the installation.
Here is my resolution to the error SVCHOST.EXE GENERIC HOST PROCESS OR DEP ERROR
IT DOES NOT INCLUDE DISABLING WIA OR DISABLING DEP (which is a good security feature)
I have tried it on upto 3-4 computers with success and complete software functionality ******************************************* Turn the All in One Off Uninstall the whole of the HP software on the computer Run a level 4 uninstall Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L1.bat Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L2.bat Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L3.bat Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L4.bat
Restart the computer ******************************************* Check the computer on the restart Check if you still get an SVCHOST.EXE GENERIC HOST PROCESS OR DEP ERROR on restart
Start --> Run Type in Msconfig Click OK Click Launch System Restore Run System Restore Create a Restore Point named Hp
Click Start --> Run Type in Regedit Click OK Open Registry Editor Scroll to the following Registry Key
HP Digital Imaging Monitor (hpqtra08.exe) (x:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe)
HP Image Zone Fast Start (hpqthb08.exe) (x:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqthb08.exe)
Generic Host Process for Win32(svchost.exe) (c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe)
Add all these files one by one by browsing to the locations
Click Apply and OK Let the computer restart if prompted ******************************************
Its also at times needed to disable from the Startup of the computer in Msconfig
Hpcmpmgr.exe HPwuSchd2.exe HP Digital Imaging Monitor (hpqtra08.exe) HP Image Zone Fast Start (hpqthb08.exe)
The reason is the above mentioned exceptions to the Data Execution Prevention are loaded after the Startup loads and the DEP may try to shut them down at the startup itself and generate the errors Unchecking the above files does not mean losing any functionality on the All in One all the features should work properly
1. Remove All HP files that were installed before 'fatal error' using 'Printer Util.exe' or similiar file available in HP CD.
2. Install software 'Dial-A-fix'. (Dial-a-fix is a collection of 'known fixes' that have been compiledover the past year that really knock out some serious Windows problems....)
you can try with installing the windows installer 4.5 and then try.. otherwise reinstalling windows might work because the error you are getting is related to installer.. and its a service of windows itself which is responsible for all the software installation..
CAUSE:
Certain HP services (and associated DLL files) were somehow partially/improperly installed. (Possibly, from a previous failed install?)
The Windows services (files) were:
Pml Driver HPZ12 (C:\Windows\System32\HPZipm12.dll) Net Driver HPZ12 (C:\Windows\System32\HPZinw12.dll)
The existence of these 2 files in the System32 directory was causing this error in my situation. Somehow, the installation script was not identifying that these files were already installed (or improperly installed) and failing to properly set them to be installed again.
SOLUTION:
Steps:
1) Check to make sure that the 2 Windows services above are not running (or not installed). 2) Rename/delete the 2 associated service DLL files (this will only be possible once the services are stopped) 3) Run the installation again.
complete uninstall printer software from computer. run uninstall L1 L2 L3 L4(if not an hp computer). run same uninstall l1l2l3l4 from 7z..folder or hp folder from temp if availalbe. then clean from add remove programs/program and features. then clean from cleanup utility all hp pritner related entries. then clean temp folder. clean recycle bin. delete c:\program files\hp and hewlett packard folders (if not an hp computer). on hp computer delete digital imaging bin folders. delete following folders from following locations-

then go to msconfig make it selective startup disable all microsoft services except hp services. hide all microsoft services. disable all startup tab apply restart.
after restart install cue version 12 officejet pro 8500 or 6500. then run msiexec.exe /unregister then msiexec.exe /regserver cmd commands.
then install software from downloaded version of original pritner install only basic drivers first and imaging devices only and use solution center 12. cue 12.
issue resolved.
there is a ps and pcl 5e driver. download and install both of them. make sure you pick the drivers that correspond with the operating software of the pc that you are using. make sure to download the drivers with .exe at the end of them, this makes it easier to load. unzip the downloads and when you click on them they should auto run. let the driver find the printer on the network and it should work ok.

There are alot of fatal error messages. You need to provide the exact fatal error message.
Here are the basic troubleshooting for that type of error :
1. Turn off your firewall, anti-virus and spyware and then install it
if it will not work
2. Download the software for your printer in the website www.hp.com/support make sure that you are going to download and install the full feature of the software
Close the Digital Imaging Monitor. ◄ Start or restart the services : 1.
HP Cue Device Discovery. 2. HP Net Device Discovery. 3. HPQCS08. ◄ Run
Digital Imaging Monitor. ◄ Wait for a Minute, if the configuration screen
appears it is done else refresh the HP Cue Device Discovery ◄ Restart the
Printer ◄ 99% chances of resolution and in the other cases a proper
uninstall and reinstall is needed ************************************************************************ If the issue still remains then :; Added the files to the firewall exception list C:\program files\HP\digital imaging\bin\hpiscnapp.exe (version 10 software ) •C:\program files\HP\digital imaging\bin\hpqscnvw.exe (other than version 10 software •C:\program files\HP\digital imaging\bin\hpqste08.exe •C:\windows\system32\hpzipm12.exe •C:\windows\system32\hpzinw12.exe •C:\program files\HP\digital imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe •C:\program files\HP\digital imaging\bin\hpqthb08.exe i. 68: dhcp client ii. 80: web server iii. 137:UDP Port 137 netbios-ns (UDP) iv. 139: netbios-Session (TCP), v. 161: snmp. Perform a clean and "No bloated" installation of the hardware. Uninstall ALL the HP printer software, disconnect the PSC and reboot the computer. When windows finish to load, connect the PSC again, the new hardware wizard will show up, follow the instructions with the HP Installation disk in the drive. IMPORTANT: When a silver sand glass show up in the screen, CANCEL the installation of the HP software (this is by clicking "CANCEL" button or by no accepting the license terms). This will install only the PSC Drivers and nothing else. Use a TWAIN compatible program (Windows imaging, photoshop, paint shop pro) and try scanning again.
