My Ryobi weekeater starts easily but when I stop it to replace line it will not restart. I have replaced the spark plug but that didn't help. I was told that it might be due to the spark arrestor but don't even know if it has one. Why is it easy to start but it will not restart for about an hour or two?
Try starting it without the choke when hot; the engine will not need the extra fuel if it is already warmed up - thus causing a flooded condition.
If that doesn't resolve your issue, try avoiding inverting the unit to replace the spool. You may have a carb needle valve that is not sealing correctly; inverting the unit could then be allowing excessive fuel to leak into the intake port and flooding it. If this works, the needle valve inside the carburetor will need to be cleaned and/or replaced.
