I have a fisher and paykel 6.5kg smart drive top loader. Once all the settings are input and the start button is pushed, the machine starts filling with water. The problem is that the water filling is intermittent and stops and starts continually until the process ultimately stops and the machine beeps to signify an error. Th pulsing of the water is consistent with the solenoids pulsing on and off. I've checked and the problem seems to occur with the cold and hot water inlets, so I rule out the possibility of it being one of the solenoids.
Any help appreciated?
I've got the same problem. If I pause the cycle, wait about 10 seconds, and then resume, the water starts normally. I suspect the Cold Water Inlet Solenoid is sticking, probably due to water sediment in the solenoid causing it to stick. I'll try cleaning it and then replace if that doesn't help and let you know what happens.
I pulled out the original Cold Water Inlet Solenoid rinsed it out really good and it worked for about 3 loads more with no problems. However, the problem seemed to be more than just a dirty valve in the solenoid.
I replaced the Cold Water Inlet with a replacement from Fisher Paykel Genuine Parts (fisherpaykelparts.net). It was $49.29 plus shipping, $57.64 total. Replacing the solenoid was very simple and easy and now, no problems at all.
