Since you said you do not know anything anything about the jumpers and stuff, probably i suggest you take it to a nearest computer specialist to do it right for you. one thing you have to check up when installing a new motherboard is you power supply, does it have more or less power output? is the local disc or hard drive connected correctly? if you have no idea on all of this then there is a need to have a specialist to do it right for you becauase if not, there would be nothing for you computer to display.

looking forward to hear from you.

thanks,

wonder

I want tobuy 1gb memory card for my ms 6787 ver2.. what is the specific type of memory card is the best for my board (1gb or 512mb only)

For this particular motherboard, you need a 184-pin DDR SDRAM DDR 266 (PC 2100) memory module. These can be found in sizes ranging from 256MB to 1GB. There are several places that these could be found on the internet. Pricing for a 1GB module seems to be around $44 or $45 USD currently.

The MS-6787 supports a maximum of 2GB of RAM (1GB in each DIMM slot).

Hope this is helpful!

MS-6787

install raid drivers only if you are certain that you are on RAID and even before you install raid drivers make sure the RAID controller is set to on in BIOS. if you dont have RAID setup then please dont install the RAID drivers. the only reason i think you are computer is not going past the windows xp logo is you might have floppy drive in the boot sequence(in the BIOS screen) set to on or you must be having a USB device connected to the computer. set it to "no boot" and things should be fine.
