Acer inspire one d260 cannot start system recovery

You should start windows in safe mode. By pressing the F8 key right when Windows starts, usually right after you hear your computer beep when you reboot it, you will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode. If it does not work on the first try, reboot and try again as you have to be quick when you press it. when it starts in safe mode, run system restore and when prompted for a restore date, choose an older restore date, probably one you a sure was perfect 2 days before the blue screen issue. This should get your system running in good shape.

Follow these steps to fix a Blue Screen in Safe Mode

Once booting start, select "Safe Mode" from the boot menu.

Scan your hard drive by running your antivirus software . If the program locates an infection, move it to your vault or follow the on-screen instructions. After program completion, if a virus was removed, attempt to reboot your computer and see if this clears up the problem. If not, restart your computer in safe mode.

Restore your computer to a previous point. Click on the "Start" button. Select "All Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools" and finally "System Restore". Choose a restore point on or before the last day your computer worked without error. Finally Reboot your computer to see if it loads correctly.

I change my screen resolution to the highest setting and my screen become blank (black with blue screen in the middle). I cannot change the resolution again because the screen is blank.

Try to restart the computer in safe mode. At start up press F8 key like your are trying to get the computers attention. You should get a start up menu. Chose Safe Mode. Once in safe mode reset the screen resolution to is lowest basic setting and reboot. See if this will help. Do you have a good antivirus program. While in safe mode run a scan also. Hope this helps Fixya up.

Acer aspire netbook won't boot. How can it be restored?

This recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software
content that is installed when you purchase your notebook. Follow the steps
below to rebuild your C: drive. (Your C: drive will be reformatted and all data
will be erased.) It is important to back up all data files before using this option.
Before performing a restore operation, please check the BIOS settings.
1 Check to see if Acer disk-to-disk recovery is enabled or not.
2 Make sure the D2D Recovery setting in Main is Enabled.
3 Exit the BIOS utility and save changes. The system will reboot.
Note: To activate the BIOS utility, press <F2> during POST.
To start the recovery process:
1 Restart the system.
2 While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to
enter the recovery process.
3 Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.

Operating system not found

Hi there. The thing that caused the shutdown is a software conflict. Go to the windows advanced option by pressing F8 key when you see the Dell Screen upon restart of the computer. Choose "Disable automatic Restart in system error" and press enter. That should fix your problem.

If you don't have documents, pictures, etc on the hard drive that you need to backup, try running system recovery by doing the following (not sure if this works on the version with a solid state drive): WARNING: This will format your hard drive and return your netbook to the condition it was in from the manufacturer.
1. Turn on the computer
2. Press and hold Alt + F10
3. Click on Restore System to Factory Default
4. Ensure the netbook is plugged into AC power instead of running off the battery and click OK

Acer Aspire One - blue screen only when try to boot

You may have to remove and reset the HDD and Memory on the unit.
Next, you will recv. the F-2 to continue or F-12 to enter setup.
Enter setup and change date and time.
Save and try.
You may have a damaged HD or boot partition and reloading the operating system will be necessary.

Reseating the HD will assure that you have a good connection and the same with the memory.

Also, if the unit has been dropped, you may have a damaged HD and may need to change it.
