Unplug the
Wii AC adapter at both ends (from the back of the Wii system and from the
wall outlet or power strip).
The AC
adapter must remain unplugged at both ends for a full two minutes.
Unplug
anything connected to the USB ports and the Nintendo GameCube Controller
ports (such as LAN Adapters, keyboards, Nintendo GameCube controllers,
etc.).
Check the AC
Adapter for the following:
Make sure that the
word "Wii" and the model number "RVL-002 (USA)" are
molded into the AC adapter. Unlicensed products are
not fully compatible and may not work correctly.
Check the AC
Adapter for physical damage. Physical damage, such as frayed wiring or a
cracked housing can cause the system to shut down. If the AC Adapter shows
signs of physical damage and needs to be replaced, a replacement can be
purchased from Nintendo's online store.
After
waiting two minutes, plug the AC adapter into the Wii system and directly
into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or power strip. If the power
light comes on and stays on, then the AC Adapter reset was successful.
You can unplug the AC adaptor on both ends for two minutes. Check if your adapter is a license product of nintendo WII if its not, you can purchase one on nintendo online store
Try unplugging your wii console's AC adapter for your wall outlet to reset it didn't correct this, then if you can, try using/borrowing another AC adapter and see if perhaps the power surge blew the fuse that is inside of it.
But if your Wii console still will not power
up, then you will have to call Nintendo's 1-800-255-3700 (6 am ~ 7 pm
Pacific, everyday) Customer Service number to set up a repair, as the power surge may have damaged something in your console.
Try a different power outlet and if that doesn't work reseat the ac adaptor into the Wii.
If that still doesn't work, try another known working ac adaptor and if the Wii still doesn't turn on then that means that the Wii has a bad main board and you'll need to replace the Wii or have it sent in for service if its still under warranty.
If you have no lights, no activity, nothing at all, totally dead. Then try another ac adaptor in a known working outlet and see if it powers up, if it does power up then you know your original ac adaptor is bad.
If it still doesn't power up with a new adaptor then there is a problem with the main board inside of the Wii and the board would need to be repaired or if you have warranty left on it, get the system replaced.
my nintendo wii after loading quantum of solace 007, it automatic updating. after that it makes my nintendo wii setting not work, it still asking for internet connection. Please send me email to [email protected] if you have any suggestion. thanks so much!!
if your Wii was from japan or another country which uses only a 110v AC power supply then you could have either blown some fuses inside the wii or at worse you could have fried some of the internals.
First of all find out which adapter you where supplied with, check the voltage rating on the adaptor. if it is a 110v adaptor then you may need to have your Wii replaced.
Is the power adaptor a Third-party one? It's obvious that your Wii does not have enough power to start the disc. If the power adaptor is third-party manufactured, I strongly recommend to stop using it Immediately. If it's a Nintendo power adaptor, it's a defective one, so call Nintendo's customer service to get it replaced.
