I have a Polaroid PDC 5080. I have changed the batteries (Duracell). In a nutshell, I turn it on, it stays on about 5 seconds, then the screens says Goodbye. It just started this day before yesterday otherwise it has worked fine.

I had the same problem with my camera it came on, it clicked, it said goodbye and that was it. what i did and it has worked since is apply gentle pressure to the lens and it's parameters. it took a few times of doing this between attempts at getting it to stay on, but it worked great. i do not remember, but i may also have applied scant pressure (resistance) to the lens while powering it on. i have an i1237

I have that problem with my camera too but after a while... I gave up retype-ing the date and time, so know every picture is on Jan.1st 2004 at 00:00:00 :D I have tried as many things as I could TO fix it but.. nothing came through...
I looked at all the settings that you are able to change on MY camera and no.... you can't.... I was wondering that too a while back and I had to just give up on that.... :D hahaha.... but I hope this helped....
pls download the manual, memory card , compatability is a problem . panasonic, scandisk, toshiba only will work. if you put other m cards , the picture will be very bright-negative effect
if you don't use it (press a button, take a pic., take a video, etc.) then it will turn off because say you put it in the case and forgot to turn it off, then it won't stay on and waste the battery.
there isn't a night vision mode i don't think... I've had this camera for a while and i havn't been able to find it.... BUT .... I did find something else that you could use sometime...
1)click the MENU button (M)
2) click left 3 times
3) then you have options for auto, daylight, cloudy, tungsten, and fluorescent.
sorry I could help you with your origional problem but at least now you can change some settings. :D
