Either the run or start windings must be wired opposite the existing configuration. Single (split) phase motors for compressors typically don't bring out the taps to allow reversal. Check the name plate as it will likely say non reversible.

have another tech look at it because he would know would need a tap a line to do pressure readings and add freon --as to reverse polarity that would hurt vehicles or battery operated type equipment as to house hold it would be the the low out put voltage that would damage equipment

Changing the "polarity" of the start winding by swapping the wires over should reverse the direction. Lots of online motor-related generic and manufacturer information is available.

The General Electric THQL two pole 100 amp double breaker?

It's coded HACR.
Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration equipment.
Means it can be used with electric motors. Electric motors draw a surge of electricity to start.

The UPC code will be for THAT style of breaker, and THAT manufacturer who made it.
Same with the EAN.
It will be on the breaker.

Let's use the Connecticut General Electric THQL 21100 100amp 2-pole breaker for an example;

This will tell you, or a representative that sells breakers, what General Electric style of breaker that is needed.

If it has 9 leads and is a 240/480 volt motor the 1and 7 go to line 1. the 2 and 8 leads go to line 2 and the 3 and 9 leads go to line 3. the 4 5 and 6 leads are hooked together with a wire nut. To reverse rotation simply reverse any 2 of the line leads.. Prairie Dog........

My friend did a pretty good search for similar toggle

1) He found a 'wall-type' 30Amp DPDT at Global
2) He said he couldn't find others ... but the internet changes.
3) This switch could be mounted in a box that screws to side of chipper. Switch will work fine with 125V.
4) Radio shack and the automotive stores carry 5 amp versions of the DPDT, but they burn up like you said

-L1 switches to A1 & B1 ... while L2 switches to A2 & B2.

7) In a reverse of the schematic shown above, my friend is using the global switch on 30Amp water heater to switch voltages between 120 and 240 so we know switch can handle the amperage. schematic
