Hello...
This error code appeares if the system control has detected power irrgularities in power supply or the amplifier ic (RSN)is faulty wich produces dc voltage on spaker output.Check voltage regulators and check dc detect line or amplifier IC(RSN).
Check power cord on back of unit' wiggle it while you turn unit on
Would not have a clue, tryed all options posted and still no sounds... plz help
"My" F 61 error code I have solved this way:
After to turn on the equipment active the cd shelves opening and closing them and ready the machine should work normaly. I think the problem could be a mechanical issue that overheat the power supply and shut off the machine.
For what it's worth, my SA-AK25 just gave up the ghost after 10 years of faithful service, during which time it never needed repair or replacement parts of any kind... It was good for what it was, but I consider it outdated and underpowered for today's applications. It was an excellent system when I had it. It was purchased Sept '98, and just expired March 15 '08. It saw heavy use, and survived three moves! Finally, the CD player failed, and the cassette player(both sides) no longer worked. I figured it's reached the end of its useful life. I think 10 years for any A/V system is pretty good, considering this techonology is changing all the time.
Good luck!

I have the same problem so I unplugged the unit, opened up the cover and checked the fuses and everything is working there but the units still wont stay on. If I push the demo button, the system will run through the demo without a problem but I cant get the unit to power-up at all. I get an error code "F61" then it shuts down. How do you check the DC voltage for the speaker if that is what I'm suppose to do.
switched it on and off repeatedly
Can anyone translate the solution from geek speak to layman? Or can you point out where I can find the IC?
