I was given a used ECS computer running Windows XP, it has an existing password that I do not know. I would like to reset it to original factory settings if possible. The motherboard is 761GX-M754 V: 1.0

To reset the bios password: Remove the cmos battery for about 5 minutes, replace & reboot. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

Re: Volume dropping in and out while recording audio.

I’ve never tried using an external USB sound card before but apparently they are available. As far as disabling your existing sound card, check in the BIOS (Setup Menu <F2>). It is also possible to disable under “Device Manager”. Here’s a link to service and owner’s manual for your model: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins6400/en/index.htm

Just better performance

Hello Doy 81
Happy Holidays!
Computers came in differences flavors, as motherboards, but, key conbination factor is a great too. example, a good hardware selection is important as CPU brand, RAMS, Video Card, and Sound card, lead to a good performance for games, aplications,
example: DUAL CORE 2.6 2 GIGs Kinston RAM, 8800 gs Video nvidia, and X-fi is a good conbination for this mobo, but always is a good setting of them in BIOS and software OS.
good Luck
