How do i acces my modem to get it out of bridge mode to use it without a router

Hi paintballa12!

Here's the link for yor modem's userguide..

http://www2.windstream.net/downloads/links/SpeedStream211.pdf

Normally, all dsl modems can be "unbridged" byr resetting it to factory state.. But that would mean you have to save you DSL username & password again..

Check page 38 for setting modem to non-bridge mode..

Hope this helps..

No internet connection

This should be connected as so. From wall outlet to DSL modem, from DSL modem to D-Link router, From D-Link router to Laptop via wireless or wired connection. You will still need the DSL modem installed but the wire coming from the DSL modem will go to uplink port on the router instead of into the laptop.

I have a new modem: model speedstream 5200, now I can't connect my router: Linskeys model BEFSR41

Your router and DSL modem probably both are set to the same IP address:
192.168.1.1

Change one of them to 192.168.1.2(I'm suggesting the Linksys)
and it should fix the problem and have them both working again.

Speedstream modem 4200

put the modem in bridge mode and then connect a DSL/cable router to it...you'll have to configure the PPOE if its DSL... Cable is a little easier because there usually is a MAC authientication not username and password...plug dsl/cable router into cable modem...turn both off for about aminute then turn modem on first then router... Be careful most routers with wireless have it enable with no security by default...turn it off or set securty (wirelss that is)

Log in to the router by typing 192.168.0.1 in your browser. 18. When prompted, using lowercase letters, type admin for the user name, and password for the password.
