Try using a master reset to fix this.
Sometimes after being used for awhile electronics tend to malfunction.
press and hold these buttons in this order....
power / volume up / channel down.
The tv should shut off after doing this.
Turn it back on manually.
This will reset the TVs internal memory chip.
I dont guarentee this as a permanent fix....but it worked for me.Good luck

Testimonial: "Worked like a charm. TV is working great now. It was hooked up to a converter box before we got it and hooked it up to cable. Thanks for the help."

I would try the tv in another outlet, if that doesn't solve the problem the tv should come with a standard warranty and is likely to be replaced (if you got the store warranty, then you may be able to get a replacement or your money back during a certain time period).

You might want to check the programming. The TV can be programmed (for up to 120 minutes) to turn off automatically.

My Magnavox digital converter box shuts itself off every 5 minute

Check that you have not got an auto power off setting on. Check that the aerial connections are good. That the signal is strong from the stations it is picking up. Weak signals can cause the box to shut down.
It the box is very hot when it shuts down, you might have a fault on it.

No picture, but has audio

It could possibly be a protection circuit in your tv that protects it if something is not functioning properly. from what is described, it could be anything from overheating to even a bad power supply! I would have someone look at it. Good Luck!
