Power surges damage electronics that power up devices. The surges push too much current into the units sensitive controllers and thus damage the units beyond repair.
As a system ages, it declines just like people and thus tend to break down gradually. Power surges just make electronics go faster down hill.

SOURCE: Avaya Partner Phone System 518-457-701...

All Parther voice mail or messaging systems have a master login and password. It usually is 99 or 999 and the password. From that mailbox, you can reset the extensions and administer the system. Your system admin guide for the particular messaging system will have complete instructions and the default password for the administer. If you've lost the "master" password, you'll need to contact your Avaya dealer who can reset it through Avaya.

I had a power interruption. I can not now access my voice mail (Partner VS Version 5) I get a busy signal. Calls do not go into voice mail. There is no LED lit on the module.

Try rebooting the phone system. Black power cord comes up on the right side. There is a switch there, turn off, count to 5 and turn back on.

I bought a used avaya partner phone system online. It came with Partner mail vs module... I cannot access the menu for voice mail to set it up... Avaya directions say pressing (intercom) 777 but all I get...

Did you really think it was going to be that easy?

You have to program the VS in the proper hunt group (7) to make it work. For example, if you put it in the 2nd slot, because it was only a 2-slot carrier, it would become extensions 22 and 23 on a 2-port license and 20-23 on a 4-port. The Partner Mail is installed to the right of any 206 or 400 cards, so that you don't have any holes in the extension numbering plan.

Here's a manual for the VS R4. It should work for your system for the basic installation. http://public.carl.airpost.net/Avaya/Partner%20Mail%20VS%20R4%20Installation%20and%20Programming.pdf

Page 35 is your installation information and page 50 tells you how to program the ACS.

Good luck.

AVAYA PARTNER ACS PHONE SYSTEM

Yes it can. Depending on the type of voice mail attached to your system you can both have the lines answered with a seperate main greeting (partner messaging can do this) or answered by a seperate mailbox (all partner voice mails).

Are there both a night menue and a day menue for partner pc mail

On the smaller flash card type voice mails no. On the larger voice mails yes.The option would be under auto attendants (3) in the system administrators mailbox.

Since power outage phone lines do not ring - only to receptionist

Your system lost its programming. It will need to be reprogrammed completely. The lines are ringing on the extensions where I voicemail is, unplug voicemail and at least lines will ring in correctly.

Replacing Partner 308 w/ 509&400EC

You don't need the 400 module for the voicemail. Therefore, you also don't need the 2 slot carrier either.

Partner 18D System - Voicemail

Your telephone can be used on different Avaya phone systems and you can have different voice mail systems. They all program differently.

Someone should have administrative rights to the voice mail. They can delete voice mail boxes and create new ones or maybe just change the password. If you do not have a phone system administrator, you would need to determine what voice mail system and what phone system you have. All the manuals are available at www.avaya.com

Most likely you have a Partner ACS system but there are different versions. You could also use these phones on a Magix system and other Partner systems.
