How can I remove leaves?

Sometimes I notice lots of leaves in basket. But when I turn pump off to clean it, all the leaves disappear. Is there a way to stop that so I can properly remove the leaves?

Therefore, it's essential to avoid causing harm to water. The most obvious and effective is using the cover to keep twigs, leaves, and soil from getting in. Here are a few additional tips we recommend.
Install a gazebo or the cover over your spa or hot tub.
Prune the trees around them and rake them regularly.
When you discover even a few leaves in the water, take them out right away.
Clean the surface of your water regularly, and then use an air or pool vacuum to remove any debris that has fallen to the bottom.
Make sure to clean and maintain the skimmer's tank every two or three days during the week during the fall.
The effort you've put into this tumble to avoid regarding your hot tub, swimming pool, or spa will result in lower upkeep costs overall and a faster, easier revisiting of your normal usage when the temperature begins to warm again. We're available all the time to help with equipment, hardware, and master assistance for all of your spa, hot tub, and pool-cleaning requirements.
you can use the SOLAR POOL VACUUM CLEANER

SOURCE: How to Clean Pump Strainer basket

Turn the swimming pool pump off and wait for the water to drain from the strainer basket. You want to make sure that the pump is completely off before you proceed. Remove the screws or any items securing the lid of the strainer basket. Open the lid and pull out the strainer basket. Vacuum the strainer basket or scoop out any debris. You may want to run clear water through the basket to ensure you removed all debris. Feel toward the impeller and remove any clogs or obstructions preventing the impeller from working properly. Check the o-ring under the cover of the pump strainer housing. You may need to use a silicon lubricant to ensure a water-tight seal. Put the strainer basket back into the pump strainer housing and pour some water into the basket. Replace the lid and secure it in place. Turn the swimming pool pump on and check for proper pressure. If your pressure doesn't register, you may need to troubleshoot to find the problem.

SOURCE: my pentair controller will not shut the filter pump off

Chances are that you have a bad relay, but the problem could be the main logic board. If there is a spare relay in the box switch all the wires from the pump relay onto the spare. Remember to shut off the breaker, and also you will need to change the wires on the top of the relay too, or you will have to do some reprogramming.

SOURCE: pentair whisperflo pump will not turn on

See if you can manually operate each pump. I suspect the problem is not with the pumps themselves. Track the control from the pumps to the motherboard, which I suspect. Whatever it is, it has all the pumps in common with it. Maybe just a simple control switch that is exposed to the elements.

SOURCE: I have a Pentair Intelliflo pump system and lately

Your pipe could be clogged or you may have a clog in the impeller. Check the pump basket and if it is cracked then it is probally in the impeller and you may be able to reach it with a screwdriver and needlenose. If you have a crack in the skimmer basket it could be in the line and you can check this by putting a kitchen sponge in the skimmer and if it comes out in the pump the line is clear. If it is clogged you may be able to clear it with a flush bag you can get at any hardware store. If that dosn't do it you will need to get a pro. Good luck.

Proper way to backflush a Rancilio Silvia.

Rancilio does not recommend backflushing the Silvia. Sometimes we have to.
First remove the brew head screen. Clean the brew head screen and reinstall. The proper way to back flush is to use a blind basket. Place some Cafiza, or Joe Glow (espresso machine detergent, a level teaspoon) in the blind basket. Insert blind basket in the portafilter and insert the portafilter in the brew head. With the machine warm, turn on the brew switch for about 4 seconds. If the pump starts to get quieter, turn the pump off. Wait about 1 minute, and repeat.
Do this about 5 to 10 times until the 3 way valve runs clean. Rinse the basket and repeat about 5 times to rinse machine. Remove and brew some more through the brew head.
Never let the pump get quite when running the pump, while back flushing. This can damage the pump.

ZODIAC INGROUND POOL PUMP MAKES A NOISE BUT DOES NOT PUMP WATER. WAS WORKING AN YESTERDAY. HAVE CLEANED FILTER, AND MANUALLY TURNED FAN AT THE BACK. STILL NOT WORKING??

If your pool pump is acting sluggish it may simply be a build up of debris inside the impeller. Cleaning it is simple if you know how.
Step 1 - Check the Impeller

You can check the impeller for clogs by opening the clear cover that is on the strainer basket. Then place your garden hose into the basket and turn it on high. The water should disappear immediately. If it does not, you may have a clog.
Step 2 - Turn off the Power to the Pump

Before actually removing the clog from your pool pump impeller you will need to turn off the power to it. Remove the basket and use a finger to reach into the hole behind the basket to feel for any debris. If it is clogged, go to step 3.
Step 3 - Disconnect the Pump and Motor

Disconnect the pump and motor from the plumbing. Depending upon the make and model of your pool pump you may be able to skip this step. The motor usually just slides away from the pump.
Step 4 - Remove the Plastic Cover

Take the pump apart by removing the plastic cover over the motor. This cover generally has several small screws holding it on.
Step 5 - Remove and Clean the Impeller

Once the cover is removed you will easily be able to see the clog in the pool pump impeller. Just use your fingers or a coat hanger to clean it out.
Step 6 - Clean

Put everything back together. Once you have it cleaned out you can put the cover back on and put it all back together. Problem solved.

Can the pump's pressure be turned down? The water come out of the jets really hard and fast and our electric bill has more than doubled since the pool pump was installed. Friends with similar pools...

I think you mean "1.5 Hp" because a "15 Hp" is just crazy, LoL Pumps are matched to each pool when they are built, so there is no need to go to a larger size pump (Higher Hp). If you can't return/swap the pump for the correct hp you had removed, you can have a smaller Impeller installed on the pump. That will reduce the flow, and also use less electricity. As far as maintenance... Clean out the basket from time to time,Lube the lid o-ring with pool lube ONLY, and keep an eye out for leaks.

I have a Whisperflow pool pump attached to a Polaris Caretaker in-pool cleaning system. When the pump is turned on it pumps a great deal of air through the cleaning system plus the system does not seem to...

there may be some debris at the pump lid oring that is allowing some air to get sucked in. sometimes everything seems to be operating fine until the system gets up to full pressure. perhaps the pump has run dry at some point and the pipe that threads into the front of the whisperflo pump has broken the seal. make sure the pipe is dry and then turn on system. you can use duck tape or squeeze silicon sealer into threaded area this will usually at least allow you to notice that less air is entering the system that way you dont have to cut and replumb parts you don need to. you may want to check any valves that are in the pipes that lead to the front of the pump it is possible that the flap at the skimmer throght where the water comes in at the pool wall tile/water line is sticking up and or is getting stuck which will stop the amount of water needed to enter thru the skimmer basket area once the pump is in full prime this then lets the water drop inside skimmer basket area and air gets sucked into the pump then the process repeats over and over until the flapper is freed or removed

Grime on clothes from washer

f the tub seal lets go water will weep into the tub bearing. This will rust the basket shaft and normally wreck the tub bearing. Once the bearings starts to get worn enough it usually gets very noisy. The tub bearing is pressed onto the outer back half of the tub shell assembly. Normally need to replace the inner basket/shaft assembly  and the outer shell with the tub bearing.
Sometimes the inner basket support will crack, this can give an clicking or banging noise as well.

Pictures of this job...
A sure indication was the brown junk/gookus leaking out if the rear bearing area and the belt has spewed it around in the drum that the rear bearing and seal was bad...
