I have a samsung 60 inch lcd tv that has sound but no pictures. If i remove the right ribbon cable that leaves the tcon board to one side of the panel I get picture on one side of the tv. As soon as I connect said ribbon cable i get nothing but sound. Im thinking there is a short somewhere after the tcon board on that side? Thank you Mode is UH60H6350AF

SOURCE: sound no picture, which component is tcon board? where all audio/video/cable/hdmi plug in to?

I have LNS4692D. Returned from vacation, turned tv on - no picture. Tried turning tv off for 4 hours- nothing. Symptoms are: tv is on - no picture , just sound; menu doesn't show, volume bar doesn't show;E.Saving is working - the backlight is changing from lighter to darker.
Found this website and ordered T-con, otherwise known as the LCD panel driver board, p/n# Bn8101286a ( thanks premtech) from partstore.com for $124. Part number BN81-01286A A/S T-CON Board.
Installation:
1.Remove plastic cover. There is an arrow for each screw that needs to be removed. Make sure to unscrew pins next to VGA port. I've spent some time trying to figure out what else is holding the plastic panel until I found this pins.
2. Remove big metal shield in the middle of tv that is covering main components. This shield is being held by small black screws all around it.
At this point you will see cover of T-CON. Here is the picture
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=118863&d=1220531321 (thanks ldac9). Do not attempt to remove that cover yet. Proceed with a next step

3.Remove metal panel that holds main components. Locate big chrome screws that have arrows pointing to them and unscrew them. Remove 2 more screws on the bottom of the panel that holds it together with a box for cables. At this point the main panel will be lose
4. Carefully start lifting the panel. You will see that there are connectors going from components on the panel to components on the lower panel and T-CON. Carefully unplug these components and raise the main panel.
5. Remove 4 screws that holds T-CON cover. Pull the cover so that T-CON is completely exposed. The cover is connected by thin alluminum , don't hesitate to pull it , but don't rip it out.
6. Once T-CON is exposed you will see 2 red ribbons. I've spent some time to figure out how unplug those from old T-CON board. Here is the suggestion. Don't try to pull it out. All you need to do is to lift small plastic lever that is part of a connector. Then ribbon can be slided out. If not sure what to do, see how this is done on the new T-CON. It has a principle of buckle on airplain safety belts.
7. Remove old T-CON and install new you.
8. Follow reverse order.

I've never fixed TV before , but this was totally successful project.

I have a Samsung 75 UHD MU8000 TV. The picture has a 1/2 inch green line vertically down the picture.Other than that the TV is perfect. Please advise.

Remove and clean the 2 flat ribbon cables going from the tcon to main board to the panel boards and see if that corrects the issue, next would be replace the tcon board if your set has one, if not the main

Samsung 60 inch LCD tv black screen but sound works. Is it most likely the T-con board?

There have been many posts on this series TV, it's not a bad tcon board making the lamps come on, you have a shorted panel and unhooking the tcon takes the power away from the panel and makes the backlights come on. If you unhook one of the flat ribbon connectors and power the set up it will come on with half a picture, if you hook the ribbon connector back up the set will come on and work like it's supposed to tell you shut it off, but it won't come back on. There are some vids on youtube on using a piece of tape and taping off some of the connectors and the set will work again. Its time consuming finding the right pins to tape off, I've did this on a number of this model set with good luck.

Are boards that connect to tcon board via ribbon cables a replaceable item?

The T'Con board you've replaced is either a damaged one or not with exact number as original. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

42lh3000 Right half of screen is black but goes better when warms up, still flickers at times, how can i repair this? The tv is about 2 years old and never had a problem with it before, the sound is great...

I have fixed an LG 42LH3000 with this very problem. Large TVs have a tendency to flex and bend ever so slightly when being moved or through heat, this can affect the connection of the ribbon cables at the top of the screen - either at the end where the Tcon board is or where the screen driver board is. When one end of the cable loses contact, half the picture goes (there are two ribbon cables. one for each side of the screen).
Remove the cables then carefully reattach them. If you still have an intermittent problem would suggest leaving the screws out of the T-con board as this will give the ribbon cable more slack.
Don't attempt any of this unless you know what you're doing - risk of damage to screen if handled indelicately also risk of fire when plugged back if the ribbon cables aren't secured properly.
