SOURCE: we need to change battery

Here is your service manual:

http://elektrotanya.com/korg_x5d_sm.pdf/download.html

Y The Lithium cell is a CR2032-HE2 type.

At the site above, scroll down to "get manual" and click to download the service manual. IGNORE other download links for viewers, etc. This replacement will take a soldering iron... it is NOT in a coin cell holder. In addition, I cannot find the HE2 tab configuration for sale so I suspect you are going to have to make do with a http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=42M1351 or equivalent which has solder tabs out horizontal. I can't even find what the HE2 type is but I suspect it is the stiff mounting tabs through the board. BE VERY CAREFUL in unsoldering those as it is easy to lift the etch on the board.

Keeping my x5dr module from changing programs when I change programs on my keyboard

Turn off PROGRAM CHANGE on the module then it will remain on whatever you set it. If you want to selectively do this on certain patches, you'll have to sit down and offer up a plan for exactly how you want it to work before I could comment further.

Yamaha dtxplorer!!!! I replaced the battery and still have a warning low battery notice on the screen. Anyone else had this problem?

If the new battery tests good on a voltmeter ( you'd be surprised how often they don't) I would suspect that the battery holder's contacts need to be cleaned.

When I turn on my Kurzweil PC2X, the LCD screen shows the message 'Scanner is dead!' followed by 'battery voltage low (0.0 volts).' The lights on the keyboard flash at me and the keyboard won't make any...

Try a factory reset.

Turn the unit on, and while the display says "Please Wait", press and release the Panic button. Press the right arrow button till the display says "Hard RESET". Press Enter, then the button under "Yes" in the display.

Is the red light indicator ment to stay on all the time when playing, or is this a warning light to let me know that the battery is low .Thanks and kind regards Neil

Simple test to try: Put in a brand new battery... If light goes out, then it is a low battery warning.

HOWEVER, it is likely a warning that battery is on so you don't forget to turn it off when done. Tried to find manual for it and could not. Your manual should tell about it.

Hi my name is Susanna and I own a Yamaha DTXtreme iis and whenever I turn the power on the screen shows this message: WARNING:DATA INITIALISING PLEASE PRESS ENTER. Then all my memory of the user programmes...

Probably the battery replacement was NOT done correctly or there is a problem with the battery voltage getting to the memory.
The original message was probably the result of the unit detecting the data was corrupted due to the backup battery not maintaining the memory.

The CORRECT Lithium cell for this unit is a CR2450

This is NOT a common available cell and LIKELY the person installed a readily available one which is not working.

Here is link to a supplier:

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=N340-ND

This cell is thicker than the commonly available cells and if the readily available was installed, it would not make contact. Open the unit and check the cell in the holder at BT1 on the board.

Here is service manual which has disassembly instructions.

DTXPlorer

You can replace the battery yourself in about 20 minutes. It is not soldered. You will need a replacement battery, which is a CR2032 watch battery, a small Philips screwdriver, and needle or thin-nosed pliers.
1. Remove all cables from the dtxplorer unit, and remove it from the drum kit rack.
2. Remove all 6 screws from the bottom side (i.e. opposite the face)
3. Remove the 3 lowest screws from the rear (jack-filled) side, including the one which holds in the little plastic power cord hook, then lift off the bottom and set aside.
4. You will see the bottom circuit board, covering the top board. Carefully pull off the spade connectors from the power switch, using pliers or patient wiggling, they are on fairly tight but will come loose. Note which one is which for proper reattachment.
5. Near the center of the board is a little white plastic post end sticking up, through a hole, from the inside (top) board, with small tabs. This loosely attaches the two boards. Using small pliers, squeeze the tabs on the post end, and pull up on the board and it will separate from the inside (top) board. Carefully move the board toward the front of the unit to free the jacks from the holes in the case, and then you can easily fold the board toward the front, like opening a book. (Don't try and remove the large wire sets attaching the two boards)
6. You will see the button-like battery. Just push it toward the spring clips at one side and lift it out. Replace it with the new battery, + side out.
7. Just reverse the steps to reassemble, hook it up and you're ready to go. Easier to do than this makes it seem. Greg
