When you say shopping you mean Stalling right. If yes then the usual cause is a failing Relay 109 which is the main power relay . The early golf had a grey relay which failed due to dry solder joints etc the modified black relay was issued to elevate the issue.

check the wiring, connecting pipes.using a hand held vacuum pump apply vacuum to the wastegate actuator,(with engine not running) check the actuator arm and lever for freedom of movement , disconnect the electrical connector from the boost pressure control valve. using an ohmmeter check the solenoid windings for an open circuit, the boost pressure control valve should measure about 25 to 35 ohms if excessive resistance or open circuit is indicated replace control valve.
