Turn fax off. Hold down 0, 1, 3 on numeric key pad and turn fax on. Then release the 0, 1 & 3 and enter the number 80, wait a few seconds and should see a message confirming counter has been cleared. Then turn fax off and on again
after replacement of drum when you close the the cover just wait for few seconds to reset the drum
machine will take one cycle. do not open lid before comletion of reset cycle done.
You are not supposed to replace the drum until it says"replace drum"
Not when it is saying "replace drum soon."...you have prematurely blown fuse in the cartridge so now it will not reset.
Try the following...
Press...PROGRAM,*,*,I(That is Capital I), then ENTER.(SHOULD RESET IT.)
With the front cover still open, you should press Clear ("Replace Drum?" should appear on the display), and then 1 for Yes. Wait for "Accepted" message and close cover. It may be necessary to remove the drum unit and put it back in, and then, with the cover open, do the a/m procedure.
Ok, this is how I resolved it for my fax machine.
I powered down the fax, removed the new drum and reseated it.
When I powered it back on the counter reset itself as it is supposed to.
