SOURCE: I have the same power supply problem on my

Hello,

You may be able to repair the board instead of buying a replacement board. If you are up to a little soldering it may save you a good bit of money for the repair. If you are interested just take a few pictures of the boards and email them to us at [email protected] We will check them out and give you some pointers on what to do. Most power supply issues with the blinking power lights are caused by blow capacitors on the power board. These are fairly easy to replace and the replacements are less than $20 usually. To get an idea what capacitors are and what will need to be do to repair you unit check out our pages at :http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/capacitors/ You may want to look over the repair guides for other units we have posted too. If you need parts we can also supply them for you. If you have any additional questions just contact us at: [email protected]

I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.

SOURCE: Replacing a Vizio Backlight Inverter

I have a television that did this. The picture went out but it continued to have sound. It was the projector bulb. I ordered from a dealer on ebay, very resonably priced. It came with instructions on how to install it and was a very easy fix.

Lg 50ln5600 backlight issue

Check whether the back-light start voltage [control voltage] comes to the backlight inverter section of the power board; from the main board. It sounds that that voltage does not come from the main board, after the firmware has been loaded up. If so the main board will have the fault. Contact any service technician.

Primer:

An LCD screen does not produce light,

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/NA_Optical/Systems/BehindTheScenes/Optics101/

Click on the monitor icon

Because of this the LCD screen needs an additional light source.
A Backlight is the additional light source.

A Backlight can be a CCFL, (Or more than one), or a series of LED's.
(Light Emitting Diode)

CCFL = Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (Bulb)
Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses; but on a MUCH smaller scale.
Average thickness is 2mm, or a little more than 1/16th of an Inch.
Or about the width of this capital letter -> O <-
Average length is almost as long, as the LCD screen is in height.

(Do they break easily when trying to remove, and replace?
OH, YES!)

A screen Inverter is used to convert the power from the laptop, for the LCD screen, and Backlight.
If the laptop uses LED backlighting, it MAY or MAY NOT use a screen Inverter.
Generalized thinking (Can also be stated as 'Rule of Thumb'), is that if the laptop uses LED backlighting, it does NOT use a screen Inverter.

I also feel into this line of thinking, since none of the LED back-lit laptops seemed to use a screen Inverter; that came to the shop.
I have found this to be a fallacy from on here,......FixYa.....
I have looked up two laptops using LED backlighting, and discovered they also used a screen Inverter.

Now I post LED backlighting may, or may not use a screen Inverter.
Seems when LED backlighting first came out, a screen Inverter was used on some models.
Also seems as the LED backlighting technology progressed, no screen Inverter is used.

90 PERCENT of the time, the fault for bad Backlighting can be attributed to a bad screen Inverter.
Of course, this IS IF the laptop uses a screen Inverter.

For a laptop with LED backlighting that does not use a screen Inverter, and backlighting is bad (Dim, or non-existant), the next hardware part in the diagnoses to replace, is the LCD screen.

I now await the information I asked for above.
Then we can diagnose together.

I have a sharp LC-37D40U that will not power on. The power light blinks 1 time every second. I held the input and volume - button while plugging the TV on and the TV cuts on and then cuts right back off,...

OK if you have blinking red light.

Try to open the cover then disconnect the inverter board after that try to power it on again..

If the light stays in blue (LIT) and of course you don't have picture or backlight you have faulty inverter board that need to be replace.

Sharp aquos model LC-32D40U screen goes black

The Sharp TV model LC32D40U / 41U "Black Screen problem" is a very well known issue. The inverter is losing ground contact which will prevent the back-light from staying on. The solution is to re-tighten six screws on the inverter board. You also would want to clean the copper contacts on then bottom of the inverter where the screws go through. Access to the inverter board will require some disassembly. Plan on taking at least three hours to repair. See the photo for the location of the screws. Use some "blue" locktight" on these six screws. There is actually a Sharp Technical Service Bulletin that describes these screws. Sharp wants you to replace these screws with a newer version. They cost at least $2.50 each! I think my method will work just as good using the "Locktight"_548.jpg_547.jpg

Part number for the samsung le52m87bd backlight inverter

Hey!

I also have a SAMSUNG LE52M87 LCD TV and I have the same
ANOYING BUZZ comming from ( I think ) backlight converter. - I am
almost 100% that its because of the backlight inverter while the sound shifts frequency when backlight is changed ( from 1 - 10 ), but the volume of the buzz stays the same. Only the tone changes. I have this TV for a year now and havent realy noticed until now, so I think it started buzzing recently, because I didnt hear it before ( and I got realy sensitive hearing :) ) ...

ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY ...

PLEASE post what happened when ( if ) you changed the inverter,
or what did you do to solve the problem ...

Many thanks in advance!
