There is no way to enhance what is already on the set. You could use headphone via the audio output jack, or use powered speakers. The newer ones have HDMI, so theoretically you could connect a theatre style sound bar.

You will have to get the prison service to repair it. They are very specialized and only used in prisons.

However if you are connecting a cable box or satellite tv receiver you would need to turn the text box off from its menu. There is often a hidden menu that needs to be accessed on the cable boxes and satellite tv receivers that can be reached by turning it off and then immediately pressing the menu button on the outside of it.
