The picture on my lg tv went out but there is sound. I did the flashlight test and I can see a picture even though the screen is dark.

LG 60" TV Model #: 60LB7100-UT The picture goes on for a second on startup but then goes out. The splash screen shows up then the backlights go out. I have replaced the power supply and the tcon board, still does same thing. There is a green led on the power supply board that continuously flashes four times. Wondering if that is some type of error code. Could this be a bad led strip? Do all the strips fail if one is bad? Don't know if thats how they work.

When ONE led on the strip fails, the amount of current being sent through the strip changes. It can cause the unit to sense the change in current and shut down. You can replace all the strips or you can use a meter to check the diodes and see how many failed and then replace those individually or the whole strip they are in

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

SOURCE: TV Samsung 50 UN50EH5300FXZA BJ04. Sound but no picture. Replaced all boards, still no picture. Flashlight test saw image.

Hi Rick,
It appears to be a case of backlight failure. since you have replaced all the boards, inverter is ruled out. Some of the LEDs in the backlight array may have gone bad. Fault is repairable, but needs care and experience of opening and repairing the LED panel. Good luck.

SOURCE: I have a Vizio V037LF 37" flat screen LCD tv. The picture went out but there is still sound. There is no backlight. I did the the flashlight test but cannot see anything.

It is likely the T-con PCB is at fault, but that is just a guess without doing testing, it is about $200 for the part sure you want to guess on this or just replace the TYV and no worries.

Bakit wala po kayang picture ang TV Display pero may sound naman po. LG po ang brand ng TV. Please answer thank you

Your TV's backlight most likely has reached its end of life cycle (pundido na). Try illuminating the screen with a flashlight (flashlight test) and if you see the picture partially, the led lamp needs replacing.

LG TV Model 55LE5500-UA. no sound no picture has power.

This problem is related to the mainboard and should be replaced. You can try to heat up the microprocessor with a heat gun though best solution is to replace mainboard. Part number is EBU60864321.

Hope this helps!

Have a LG 60LN5600 and the other day it just went to a black screen. Have sound, tried the flashlight test and still not seeing a picture. What board is the issue? Or what could be the issue?

LED strip has failed bad enough (e.g. LED burning open) resulting in power supply over-voltage or under-voltage protection kicking in.

Solution is to open the LCD panel and replace strips, preferably all of them with new, though some techs would only patch/fix the bad ones.

It's not something I'd recommend doing for first time on a 60'' TV.

It's not a rocket science, but has its traps and if you want to see that TV working bring it to someone local who does that.

Alas it's one of the things that can't be serviced remotely, like a main board, for example, which you can send to someone and have it repaired.
