SOURCE: whirlpool duet washer door is open. I can't close it because the latch is stuck in the "locked" position.

The first thing to try is to hold the cancel button for 15 seconds. The more labor intensive solution is this: Remove the panel beneath the door (2 or 3 screws). Reach up, there is a little "ring" beneath the door lock. Pull this down, it releases the mechanism.

I have a small Steelcraft safe with touch pad I have never used it. All of my paperwork is inside alone with keys and some money I closed the door not knowing it would lock

If you have lost or forgotten the unlock code, find the serial number of the safe, proof that you were the one who bought it, and contact Steelcraft's service department. They may be able to tell you if there is a factory default code on it.

Lock key to safe inside safe need to know where to get another key fot steelcraft safe just got it

The only way should be asking for a copy at the site where you bought your safe, with a proof of your purchase. Actually, something similar happened to me, with a security lock of my home; lost 3 keys, remained only one and keys can't be copied so I got additional copies from the door-lock manufacturer after I prooved I'm legitimate owner.

My sentry safe, number bx-887566, is stuck in the open position. The lock is engaged and the key won't turn. How do,I fix this??

I did this on my own safe. Different brand but you can try. Somewhere on the door , look for a latch or pin or rod that you can push in.These are usually triggers that allow the lock to turn only when the door is closed. Somehow, you have locked it with the door open (as I did). Press in any of these and try turning the lock. It will be tricked into thinking the door is closed and allow you to turn the key. Good luck

New deadbolt notworking?

You have the lever that goes from the key cylinder part of the lock through the striker portion of the locking assembly turned part way, either in the wrong direction or not turned enough in the right direction so if you take the inside portion of the lock off and pull the outside portion out of the door and rotate the lever to its proper position and then put if all back together in the correct sequence it should work properly.

Hi, I have an older version of the Ilco unican corp pistol safe. IT is a simplex with the push buttons and a silver turner. I got it open, but don't know how to re program the code. Any help?

I found this instruction elsewhere on this site ( thanks to pctuneup191):

PROCEDURES TO CHANGE THE COMBINATION OF SIMPLEX 1000 SERIES CIPHER LOCKS

1.) ENSURE THE DOOR IS OPEN.

2.) INSERT THE DF-59 CONTROL KEY INTO THE COMBINATION CHANGE PLUG ASSEMBLY (ON THE BACK OF THE DOOR) AND UNSCREW THE CYLINDER BY TURNING THE KEY COUNTERCLOCKWISE.

3.) TAKE THE CHANGE PLUG ASSEMBLY COMPLETELY OUT OF THE DOOR.

4.) TURN THE OUTSIDE DOOR KNOB CLOCKWISE ALL THE WAY UNTIL IT STOPS, THEN RELEASE THE KNOB.

5.) PRESS IN THE EXISTING COMBINATION FIRMLY.

6.) INSERT THE SPANNER WRENCH IN THE COMBINATION CHANGE SLEEVE. IT SHOULD INSERT AT THE NINE O'CLOCK POSITION.

7.) TURN THE SPANNER WRENCH GENTLY CLOCKWISE UNTIL IT STOPS AT THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION. NOTE THE NOTCHES IN THE COMBINATION CHANGE SLEEVE MOVES AS THE SLEEVE IS MOVED.

8.) TURN THE SPANNER WRENCH COUNTERCLOCKWISE BACK TO THE NINE O'CLOCK POSITION UNTIL IT STOPS. REMOVE THE SPANNER WRENCH.

9.) TURN THE OUTSIDE DOOR KNOB CLOCKWISE (ALL THE WAY, UNTIL IT STOPS), THEN RELEASE.

10.) INSERT THE NEW COMBINATION BY PRESSING IN THE BUTTONS. USE AT LEAST three numbers and a maximum of five.

11.) TURN THE DOOR KNOB CLOCKWISE ONCE, ALL THE WAY, UNTIL IT STOPS. HOLD IN THIS POSITION AND CHECK IF THE LATCH IS RETRACTED.

12.) RELEASE THE DOOR KNOB.

13.) TURN THE DOOR KNOB CLOCKWISE ONE MORE TIME TO THE STOP POSITION. AT THIS POINT, THE LATCH SHOULD NOT RETRACT UNLESS YOU USE THE NEW COMBINATION.

14.) REINSERT THE CYLINDER INTO THE BACK OF THE DOOR BY SCREWING IT IN CLOCKWISE WITH THE DF-59 CONTROL KEY (DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!)

REMOVE THE KEY.

A Df-59 key can be purchased at this site:

http://absupply.net/kaba-access-control-lock-1000-series-key-df59.aspx

Good Luck!

I have a gordon digital electronic safe # P45891, lost combination .how to open it?

Take the single screw off of the entry pad and remove the cover plate. Using the key that came with the safe, unlock the safe. Now, look for a little red button on the inner hinge. Push it in and you will note the yellow led on the the front of the safe turns on. Now, enter a 4 digit code of you choice. This is automatically saved and is the new 4 digit code you press to open the safe.
