Your best bet at this juncture is to try to get a hold of the schematic to set what else could be contributing to the issue.

Does anything at all work with the new board? Check for any fuses or relays?

I think you must be mistaken about your heater being a millivolt heater. They have not mfg these heaters for some time. And they probably would not give you an SF error. If you have an SF error, it is a newer model with a digital board. Millivolts usually have two analog temperature dials on them and no digital readouts. That should be the part. HTH

dont have a schematic, but the cord has 3 wires,of the three wires the middle one is the important one, it MUST be attatched to the middle post connector at the rear of unit. either end can then be attatched to either end, nthey can bbe switched, its only the middle one the will need to be mounted to middle
