$7E8 and $7E9 are sub menus for the Engine and Transmission. You need to select one and press enter. It will then give you the code for that sub menu.

as I said before that's not an engine code. that is just the menu on your reader. you need to select the engine on the reader then select read codes. your not using the code reader properly

The codes you listed are not valid Powertrain codes, which happens with some brands scan tools.
ALL P codes are 4 digit codes, preceded by the letter P - example would be P0430
you need to scroll thru your scan tool's menu to find the P codes and then post them here

Hi. I think you bought a new scan tool. No Problem. 7E8 and 7E9 are subcategories for the engine and transmission. Scroll down some more. OBD2 engine codes will always start with "P". Example: P0300- Random misfire. Good Luck.
