You did not list the model numbers of either item but I can tell you that the new televisions use HDMI to send and receive audio. With that in mind, there is no way to do what you want to do unless you buy a converter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/AGPtek-SPDIF-Extractor-Converter-output/dp/B00ECTHIKK

SOURCE: LCD HDTV digital audio output jack

The orange jack is a DIGITAL audio out and cannot be hooked to anything other than a digital input. You want to use the White/Red jacks at the bottom.

SOURCE: RCA TV - Trying to hookup new dvd/vcr player to old tv with only antenna input

The input on your television is probably coaxial (for cable or an antenna) which means it needs an RF modulated signal. You can find one of those at your local department or electronics stores. Just look for an "RF Modulator" or "video-RF convertor." They're most commonly used to hook video games up to older televisions.

Now, if you've got an old VCR handy, that has an external input, it already has the RF modulator built-in.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V1200 subwoofer connection to Mirage BPS-150i subwoofer

just connect your subwoofer mono RCA to your amp sub single out rca connector. you do not need to megre all those 4terminals into one. in fact internal circuit of those 4rca are merging inside to one since the sub uses only a single amp. 4inputs was meant for sources with multiple sub out

I have an rt2870 and am just wondering where i connect the yellow subwoofer cord to the TV at, and i set my tv setting for the surround sound

You shouldn't connect the subwoofer to the TV. Just connect the Right and Left audio cables (red and white RCA plugs) to the TV audio out and then the other side goes receiver's audio in. If you are using the subwoofer that came with the unit, connect it to the sub port (purple and grey or black striped). The red and black striped cable goes to the subwoofer control.

If you are using another active subwoofer, connect it to the RCA jack labeled Subwoofer Audio OUT.

If you have a 3-plug RCA cable that is a composite video cable. The yellow plug carries the video, the red and white carry the audio signal. This cable is most often used for connecting older VCRs and game systems to a TV (or newer devices to an older TV). Thus leave the yellow jack dangling if using it for an audio cable.

Set your TV to use the external audio speakers and the receiver will take care of the signal to the subwoofer. (You only would connect the speakers individually for a computer sound system.)

I hope this helps.

How do I hook it up to my Surround sound reciever?

Hooking up a subwoofer is dependent upon what hookups are availble on the receiver and subwoofer. Does your receiver have a specific subwoofer output? If so, is it set of speaker-wire terminals, or is it an RCA jack? The Wharfedale can accomodate either one of these as an input. There are four speaker posts on the back of the subwoofer, and there is a single RCA jack input.

Have an RCA remote i am trying to use with my Vizio 1080p hdtv. Instructions on the universal remote are as follows: -Turn on TV -Press and hold "code search" untill light stays lit. release. -Press TV...

Newer brands of tvs are using new codes that old remotes don't have. Only older learing remotes from original remotes or USB upgradable or newer one that were made after the tv was made will work.

You can either hook up the left channel only or buy a splitter that separates one input into two outputs.

Connecting Powered Subwoofer to a Receiver

you will need a line-level converter to use this subwoofer- it is a rectangular-shaped box with wires coming out on one end and red-and-white RCA plugs one the other. The end with the wires coming out will hook to the receiver, and the other end will need to plug into the sub.
