The water and ice maker were disconnected about 3 yrs ago but the clicking only started when our power was turned off because of road works in the street. It hasnt stoped clicking since then

SOURCE: Clicking Fridge

I used to have a whirlpool fridge, they are the ones who make kenmore too. It used to make a loud thud noise. It was the compressor turning off. sometimes it was loud enough to wake me up at night. It did this for years and I never had any problems with it. when I purchased a larger fridge I sold it to a friend and its still working today. If you can tolerate the noise I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts giving you trouble.

SOURCE: Have a whirlpool side by side american fridge freezer,,

If the fan in the freezer is working.
You can hear this fan running when you open the freezer. Then I think the noise you hear is the fan hitting an ice build up.

This is a failure of the defrost system.

SOURCE: GE bottom freezer began making a clicking noise, will not run

The clicking could be the start relay. If the start relay is bad, the compressor will not start and you will hear a clicking noise in 2-5 minute intervals. The clicking noise is the overload cutting the compressor off when it overheats from trying to start with a bad start relay. To find out if this is bad first unplug the refrigerator. Remove the lower cover from your refrigerator. Then take the cover off that is on the side of the compressor, you will see wires going to this. Now you should be able to see the start relay plugged on to the side of the compressor and unplug it. Now the best way to tell if it’s bad is to shake it. If it rattles, it’s bad and needs to be replaced. If not, most of the time it’s ok. But rather than saying the compressors bad, you might want to replace it anyways because it don’t cost much in most cases (less than $25). If you replace it and it doesn’t work then the compressor is bad and you’ll need you call a repairman. (Note that compressors are very costly and are normally not worth fixing). Whirlpool fridge freezer

Totally a normal action.. When the compressor switches off once the temperature is reached, or possibly after a defrost cycle, if the gas hasn't quite equalised, it will click once or twice then start up.If the compressor has a starting capacitor and it does the clicking, then one needs to check the capacitor.

Whirlpool refrig center section hot

Heat between the doors is normal, It can be a bit concerning but don't worry about it.
The fans do wear out on fridges and can be replaced if the noise bothers you. As long as the fan is still turning it won't affect the operation.

Whirpool GS6SHAXLB03 Refrigerator or freezer do not cool.

This sounds like it's out of freon. Not just low but out. That clicking noise is a thermal overload shutting down the compressor. If you continue let it just click away it will burn this overload out and the compressor will have to be replaced. If the refrigerator just started doing this suddenly it could be that the compressor is locked up. If it has external capacitors either the start or run capacitor could be bad. If the capacitors are good then you could try a hard start kit to try to unlock the compressor.

Intermittent flapping noise whirlpool fridge freezer

Hi: Go easy on my rating as this is just something to try. You say it dosn't have a dispenser. Does it have an Ice maker? If so is it hooked up? If not try raising the lever on the ice maker up to the off position. The water valve may ve trying to open and without water pressure it will make a noise. It would also be related to the switches on the door. I hope this helps, Jeff

Panel between fridge and freezer very hot and no sound at all

Dont know about the noise prob. but I can help with the over heating cabinet. Your condensing coil is dirty and needs cleaned. it is located under your refrigerator or behind the back panel. You should use a brush and vac. it out. Air must travel through the tubing freely in order to cool properly. It should be easy to find following the tubes coming out of your compressor.
