My son is trying to replace the power board in his Visio E70-F3 TV. He's having trouble getting the back off. He has all the screws out so is there a trick to getting the back off the E70-F3?

You have a main board issue, this is common on a lot of the P series Vizio sets. The correct way to fix it is to reball the two processor IC's. You can replace the board as well, just checked shopjimmy.com and they have one available but it's not a cheap board, going to run around $140 with shipping and sales tax, but this will correct the issues your experiencing. This will be a used board, due to the high failure rate of this board I'd go with the longest warranty available (2 yrs), normally I don't advise buying a warranty but this will guarantee you will have a working board for 2 yrs. Other option is replace the TV.

Yes it is repairable and you will know in future not to buy Visio. They are bargain basement at Sharp / Sony prices!

Take it apart and power the LEDs independently using a variable power supply. They should all be the same brightness. Or..... take it to a pro and get the job done right.

If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T OPEN THE TV UP TO FIX IT, THERE ARE HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES ON THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD, EVEN WEEKS AFTER THE TV IS UNPLUGGED!

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

I just solved this kind of problem with my VIZIO VP504FHDTV10A. It was main power supply that went bad. You need to open back panel cover and right in the middle you will see two powersupply boards(subpower board(smaller) and big main powersupply board). Just get board part/model # and search it on eBay(what I did). It was approx. $100. Good luck.

I just had my Vizio which blew up and the power light stayed on and you could not turn it off on the tv you had to unplug it and then when you plug it back in same thing all over again, no picture at all , My TV made a loud pop before this happened, paid 1700 for TV and repairs were 900, bought new TV instead, never buy a Visio, there customer service totally sucks, you get a warranty and they try to screw you with an old piece of junk refurbished TV, they tried anyway, after 2 months they finally gave me my money back and I bought a totally awesome, SAMSUMG, THE WAY TO GO!! The F70 and F71 error codes on this model of washer indicates a communication problem between the user interface control board and the central control unit (main control board). These error codes can sometimes be caused by a power surge or glitch through the electrical lines. Try unplugging the washer to completely disconnect electrical power. Wait 1 minute and then plug the washer back in to the see if the fault code clears. If it does, then the washer may work normally.

If the code reappears, then you could have a wire harness connection problem, a failed user interface control board or a failed central control unit. I recommend calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair this type of problem so that the correct component can be replaced.


Be sure your unit is plugged into a 3 prong grounded outlet as well.


F71 is a "heatbeat failure" which means that your front interface control board is shorted and will need to be replaced. it's actually fairly easy to replace and can definitely be done by yourself. To access the part, just pull the unit forward and remove the 3 screws coming in from the back of the top panel. Remove the top panel by pulling it back, up, and off. Then remove all the screws going into the top of the control panel. Remove the dispenser drawer and remove the screws coming in through the dispenser. Remove the screws coming from the inside of the dryer going forward into the control panel, then remove the control panel (it's just clipped in on the bottom. After that you can disconnect the wire harnesses to the front interface control board and replace that part.
