Well, the best bet here is really a very simple one. My Granny told me this easy to do little tip many, many years ago. It's one of those old die-hard make do and mend type things I suppose. It must've been shortly after the first moon landing so that was in '69 I believe. Of course there are still some who firmly believe without any doubt at all that the moon landing was all faked so that the President didn't feel so bad after the other lot had said they'd already been there, done it AND bought the t-shirt! Anyways she used to tell us they always used to manage them little critters very well with a rolled up newspaper SO don't go wasting yer money on that chap cos it don't work no how!

You would have to pull the ballast transformer out.
Pull the light fitting out.
Fit a new socket.
Run the mains wires that went the ballast transformer to the new socket.

SOURCE: Should my 1.5 acre stinger bug zapper zap when I plug it up

Stinger is one of the top brands available for electronic insect control. Today The manufacturers undergo rigorous scientific field testing before designing the product. The device provides wide coverage and is very effective for insect killing. Summer season is great for spending hours outside doing fun activities. But summer is also the season when you will be attacked by all sorts of flying insects making your life miserable.

Should my 1.5 acre stinger bug zapper zap when I plug it up

Intuitively, I glean it zaps when you turn it on only if you are a bug. Zapping is caused by the bug encountering the zapper. Otherwise, it would zap you even if you were not a big bug, simply because you were in close proximity.

No ozone smell

You probably have a burned out high voltage transformer. That's what produces the ozone. Helpful hint...........the high voltage transformer is also the one used in bug zappers
