Check the back of your Sharp TV for the HDMI input. These
will be long, thin rectangular jacks labeled "HDMI." Most Sharp TVs will
include another label on those jacks with an input number ("Input 5,"
"Input 6" or the like). Remember that number. It will have a bearing
when you turn on the TV.
2
Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the input jack on the
Sharp TV and the other end to a compatible component such as an HD DVR
from your cable/satellite company or a Blu-Ray disc player. The TV won't
broadcast in HD if you can't connect these devices with an HDMI cable
(though it will still broadcast in standard definition using RCA cables
or S-video cables).
3
Turn on the TV and the requisite component (Blu-Ray, DVR).
4
Press the "Input" button on your remote. A list of signal
sources will appear on your screen ("Input 1," Input 2," etc.). Use the
cursor to maneuver down to the input number corresponding to the HDMI
outlet you just hooked up and press the "Input" button again.
5
Press the "Menu" button and maneuver the cursor to select
"Option." Go to "HDMI Setup" and press "Enter." Move the cursor up or
down to the desired item and hit "Enter" again. Then move the cursor
from side-to-side to select the proper setting. Hit "Enable" to allow
the Sharp TV to automatically recognize the HDMI signal and "Digital" to
get the proper audio signal from the HDMI cable. Then hit "Enter"
again.
The reason your tv is powering down is that it is not receiving an input signal on the channel (input). basically you don't have anything plugged in and turned so the tv doesn't see a signal on component 5 so it shuts the tv off. turn on your TV and hit the input button until you get to the input that you are have a device installed on. just make sure the device you are trying to see on the tv is turned on prior to turning on your tv.
If you do not have an and device plugged in (cable or other input device), plug something in to an input and turn the device on so a signal is being sent to the tv and then turn on your tv and change the channel to that input.
if you are locked on input 5, install and turn on a device to that input so the TV registers it as an active input.
Sounds like you're stuck on..... Video 1 or Video 2 (whichever). If you can access your TV's menu at the front panel, you should be able to switch over fairly easy. Hit MENU. Using your VOLUME UP & DOWN buttons, Go to CABLE/SATELITE/ANTENNA, hit VOLUME UP or DOWN 'til it switches back to TV picture then hit ENTER. If you do not have an access panel in front but possibly have any other remote (cable or satelite or home theater, etc...) that can be paired with this TV and has an INPUT button, you can change the setting that way.

This usually happens when you are on a source that doesn't have a signal such as a channel with no signal or an AV input that is not connected.
You should look for a button that has TV/VCR or TV/VIDEO on it. I've guessing that you've already tried to change the channel but if not try that.
Last ditch effort in that case may be to unplug the TV for a few secouds. Warning- this may wipe out any settings you have entered such as the channel programming (which channels to skip while surfing) but along with that goes the blue screen.
Problems with V-Chip/Parental Controls
The rating limits don’t work
• For rating limits to take effect, you must lock V-Chip settings to activate them.
I don’t remember my password and I want to unlock the TV
• If you forget your password you can reset it. Enter 5898 as the password and then change it
to a new one.
Could have a stuck button or a corrupt e-prom, but lets try kicking this set in the head, Now these reset codes are model dependent so this code will not work for every set out there but this reset is for the WD-62525. with the set on and with the original TV remote hit the keys in this sequence, MENU-2-4-7-0 this will bring up a service menu, the cruiser should already be on "Initialize" so simply hit enter. this will reset the TV to factory defaults and may fix your problem
