Every time i use my remote control my tv shuts off then comes back on?

First turn on device to be programmed. Press what device you want to program (tv) hold it down and at the same time hold power button down. Wait for red light to shut off and come back on. When light comes on remove finger device button and continue to hit power button on & off until device shuts off. Then hit stop button on the bottom off remote.

on your directv remote move the switch on the top to right until on tv. then hold select and mute on remote until it flashes twice. then enter 981. that will clear any memory on remote. then hold select and mute again until it flashes twice. enter 9911and use the channel/page up button and press it up once at a time until tv shuts off. after tv shuts off press select. then hold select and mute again until flashes and enter 960 and that will let it control inputs. then move switch back to left on directv logo and enjoy.

Without knowing the codes for the specific brand names and models of your devices, this is how you program the Zenith MBR3447 for your TV, VCR, DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver:

TV

1. Push the "Power" button on the TV to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "TV" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the TV's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the TV fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the TV does shut off. Each time the "Power" button is pressed the Zenith MBR3447 tries using a different TV device code from its code library to turn the TV off. Therefore, when the TV finally does shut off it's an indication that the remote is temporarily programmed with the correct device code to control the brand of TV you're using.
6. Press "Enter" to save the current code.

VCR

1. Push the "Power" button on the VCR to turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "VCR" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the VCR's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the VCR fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the VCR does shut off. Then press "Enter."

DVD Player, CD Player or Audio Receiver

1. Push the "Power" button on the device your programming the remote to control to manually turn it on.
2. Press and hold the "PRG" button in the upper left corner of the remote. Release when the indicator light, located in the top center of the remote control, comes on.
3. Push the "AUX" mode key located at the top of the remote.
4. Enter 0 -- 0 -- 0 on the remote's number pad, then press the "Enter" button.
5. Aim the remote control in the direction of the device's IR sensor and push the "Power" button. Pause a second. If the device fails to shut off, push the "Power" button again. Repeat until the device does shut off. Then press "Enter."

Can you test it again, and look at the remote. Does the remote flash, indicating that another command is sent that is powering off the TV?

Using the menu/options button, check whether there is a sleep timer. You may have accidentally set it, and it will shut off the tv at either a particular time, or after a period of time has elapsed.

I had a problem that has not been fixed that i had put glass cleaner on my tv and every time i turn it off it comes back on sooo i do not have a solution so i need more and cheap ways to fix my tv.

p.s. i am 9

1 - Hold the clear tv buttom until all 4 light flash red
2- Press the red tv buttom
3- Press the amount of time needed on the up cursor ( around select buttom) until your tv shut down
4-When the tv goes off press the search buttom ( at the end on the right side )
5-Press record

Then u can use the red tv buttom to control ur tv and u can control the volume on satelitte mode without going back to tv mode , if u press too much time while searching the code and the tv wont light back , do the same thing but instead pressing the up cursor press the down one to go back on the code it will be faster .

I think the problem with the remote control it malfunction take the remote control away from the tv
and test the tv

I had the same problem and one time the tv came on by itself
now i took the remote control away and testing the tv
now for 15 min. so far so good

First try turning the TV on from the Power button the set itself (assuming it has one).

If not, unplug the TV from the wall, wait a half hour, then plug it back in. It should come back on.

Also check that none of the buttons on the remote are stuck down, and that the batteries in the remote are OK. The toy might've stuck a repeating button down (like volume) which may have then drained the remote's batteries.

Could be a bad remote board in the TV...make sure the remote is working by checking it with your cell phone camera
