I have the apeman dashcam C860 1520p and I can't figure out how to format the sd card

Try another SD card. Try formatting the card before putting it in the camera. Make sure all the contacts for the SD card are clean.

If that camera has the feature to initialize or format the memory card, you should try that first.

You are probably not pushing it in far enough. Sometimes difficult to get it to latch. Try pushing it (carefully) with a small screwdriver or nail file.

Have you tried to format the card.

Start up a computer with Windows XP, Vista, windows 7or Insert the SD card into an external memory card reader or into the computer's built in card reader. If it the first time a SD card has been inserted into the computer, Windows will recognize the SD card and automatically install drivers to read the memory card.

2Go to the computer view by clicking on the windows start menu icon in the bottom right corner of the computer. In Windows 7 and Vista click "Computer". In Windows XP click "My Computer"

3Right click on the SD drive under the computer heading. A dialog box with different options for the drive will appear. Click on "Format" to bring up the formatting dialog box.

4Select the type of formatting (also known as file system format). In Windows XP or Vista there are several choices including FAT, FAT 32, and NTFS. In Windows 7 there is an added choice called exFAT formatting. This is an improved FAT formatting type with improved meta data capabilities. Choose the formatting type, name if the drive if desired, check or uncheck the "quick format" option, and press the "Start" button. When the SD card format is complete Windows will provide a notification.

this is what i did, and it worked perfectly. go out and get a sd card * any gig u want* as soon as u put the sd card into the camera, FORMAT IT!!!!. do that before u do anything else. don't format it on ur pc or laptop. format it on the camera. if u do that it will work perfectly. i don't know why it wasn't in the manual to format sd card first. but if u try to take pics first, that will mess up the entire system and u will be assed out a sd card. it took me 3 sd cards to figure this out. the cards worked fine but not in the camera. then i formatted it on the camera first and it works fine. the other sd cards i use for other things, i won't discard them but they won't work in the cam. but remember again GET NEW SD CARD AND FORMAT THE CARD IN THE CAMERA FIRST.

To format the card go to Options Advanced Options Memory Card. Press the scroll wheel and select Format Card.

Sometimes the downlodad file format wont support the the file fornat of the phone .If u are using the micro sd card fo the first time the format the card . otherwise it may have this problem.

There Are two ways to format sd card
1) by Phone : Go to Memory card option
Gallery - memory card - option - format
& ur card will be formatted

2) By pc : connect ur phone to pc or sd card reader & right click on removable disk which is your sd card's slot & select format option.
Then it will ask for custom & quick format, select one from them & ur card will be formatted

If the formatting works the same way as it does on computers then the formatting process wipes everything off a disk/card!!!
