Hi.

The E-2 error code relates to a communication error between the computer and the resistance motor. In most cases, this is caused by the cable that plugs into the back of the computer not being properly inserted into its connection point or by a bent pin on that connection.
Please unplug the cable that plugs into the back of the computer and check that none of the pins are bent. If a pin is bent then gently push the pin back into a straight position. Once the pins have been checked re-connect the cable and firmly push it into position.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Power ramp does not work.

Ignore everything above - most of the time this is an easy fix. Usually, it happens with a brand new console, or a machine that has reset itself.

Hold down the incline up (on the console itself) button and the start button at the same time. Then follow the instructions on screen.

It will run through an initial calibration, and once complete, the ramp will now work. Just did this with mine, and my ramp is now working perfectly.

SOURCE: Sole 235 elliptical causes static that interferes with the tv and pvr.

the machine has has front drive system which indicates an electric motor
static can be caused by brushes arcing on the commutator bars
that would require a check by an electrician or technician
removing the rubber mat will do nothing as I suggested
the arcing is causing the static so it is severe
if the machine is under warranty , get it checked by a warranty technician or service agent
failing that the capacitor is fitted across the power and neutral points at the back of the power point

Testimonial: "Thank you, Where is the power point, an neutral points? It is not under warranty, and is 2nd hand. Kind of confused as to why this would need to be done. Thanks."

Sole E55 console display flashing "Need Lube"

Got a Sole elliptical machine? Is it displaying a NEED LUBE error message when you turn it on? Tyler at Sole service told me this is a software bug. It appears every 180 miles of usage, and it was really only intended for treadmills, not ellipticals.
You can clean and lubricate the rails and wheels - and you should - but the error message won't go away. Instead, you can get rid of it by resetting the odometer. First, press and hold the Start, Enter, and Stop buttons for five seconds to enter engineering mode. Use the arrow keys to select FUNCTIONS, then select ODO RESET and press Enter. Turn the machine off and on again, and voila, no error message.
Thanks Tyler! Happy exercising!

Sole treadmill says "INITIAL" on the screen and won't run. This occurred after I removed the magnetic emergency stop switch.

Normally you must put the key in the hole, after you press the button start and ready.
However I recommend you to follow the instr. manual for easy start. Since that every manufacturer has a little diferrent mode of start. If you do not have it download free from

E3 error on sole E95 elliptical

The E95 incline motor is out of calibration. Recalibrate the incline by holding the UP INCLINE button and the START button simultaneously for 5 seconds. This will put the machine into incline calibration mode. Press ENTER to start the calibration and let it run. It will take a minute or two.

Refer to page 25 (the last page) of the user manual, hidden right at the bottom.

Thanks! It was the calibration!

But in order to get to calibration mode I had to press "Resistance Up" and "Start", not "Incline Up" and "Start"
