SOURCE: Keyboard

I had the same issue, I oredered another keyboard from E-bay and it was $20 and if you look up the installation instructions it takes 2 minutes to install.

Trying to put the keys back on will give you a heart attack!! The new keyboard that you will get allows them to snap back on with no effort.

I have to small children so I should know.

I accidentally took the number nine key and cant attach it back

I have rarely been able to reattach a key to the keyboard. Replacement keys cost $5, but you will still have the problem of trying to reattach. I recommend that you buy another keyboard for $17 delivered. Replacement of the keyboard is simple and fast.

Need to know difference between dell and apple keyboard

The Apple key sends the same key code as the Windows key on the Dell keyboard. The option key on the Apple keyboard is the same as the Alt key on the Dell keyboard. The Dell keyboard may require a PS/2 interface (older models) instead of USB, and may have Print Screen, Scroll Lock and Pause/Break keys. These three additional keys are very rarely used.
Otherwise, the differences are cosmetic.

How do i reattach the shift key on my sony vaio it seems impossible

Indeed it does. When one of the keys on my laptop popped off I tried for hours to reattach it to no avail. Taking it to a repair clinic I was told that they couldn't reattach a single key either and that a new keyboard would have to be ordered and installed at a cost of almost half the cost of the original laptop purchase price. Fortunately, the laptop was still under warranty so the repair was made in a few days for free.

So, where does this leave you? If your computer is still covered by warranty contact Sony Customer Service. If the warranty is expired, a new USB keyboard can be purchased very inexpensively wherever computers and computer accessories are sold.

Apple key no longer working

The Kensington keyboard is being recognised as a PC-style keyboard, and the software has swapped the action of Apple (Command) and Alt (Option). Go to System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse, and set the Modifier keys correctly in the Keyboard panel.
