The third digit after the period usually indicates the capacity of newer Kenmore refrigerators. Since this is a bottom freezer with two door refigerator, it's probably a 20 cu. ft. model. If you have the original documentation, the energy efficiency label will have the capacity listed.
I hope this helps. To check, use a measuring tape to get the height, depth and width. Multiply the values together. If you measured in inches, divide by 1728 (12 x 12 x 12) to convert cu. in. to cu. ft.
Don't know what is the model number of your fridge. 1.Need check electric water valve under the fridge. If that fridge made by GE (Kenmore just a Sears brand name and they use several others manufacturers for refrigeration), usually it's a frozen plastic water supply line inside freezer door. You could unplug fridge for 24 hours (you have to put food from freezer to other freezer).
If it won't drain or spin check the lid switch. If it sounds like the motor is running when in spin check the coupler between the motor & and the transmission will have to pull the motor to get to it.two plastic parts with a rubber piece between them.
if you go to hoover.com and look under download manuels. when it asks you for the model num. for your machine, put it in and push enter/search. if it's the pic. that i see and model num. U6437-900, you will need to put U6439-900 instead.( when putting in the model num. you don't have to put the dash in) i've checked for you and your model num. doesn't show, but the one that i have provided will be almost the same one has yours, but maybe a color difference and some tools extra. the manuel should work for you though. hope this helps
Unplug and then go inside the fresh food compartment and open the cover that holds the thermostat control. Join or straight wire the two wires together and if it runs you need to replace the thermostat. If not we need to move down to compressor area. I will need you to read off the model number that is on your refrigerator,For example sears numbers look like this 915.245687
Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze [email protected]
I had the same problem, in reading a bunch of other similiar issues with various models, the best thing I found was that the water line inside the freezer door is frozen. I had to isolate this portion of my water line from the wall all the way through the frigde. It you unplug, take out screws from he back cardboard cover so you can follow the waterline through the fridge. The valves are pretty easy to take apart/put together. To take apart a valve, just press down on the ring around the valve the pull the connecting apart. To put back together, push the same ring down, then push the connection back together. To check the water flow, plug the fridge back in and have some one push the water dispenser as you check each valve. I suspect the problem is in the freezer door, so you should just check the valve under the bottom left side of the freezer door. From here to the dispenser the water line goes through the door. I used a blow dryer to heat up the inside of the freezer door just behind and below the dispenser unit for about 5 minutes. Try and run the water again and it should work. Good luck
