The magnetron is probably the single most difficult component to get to in the microwave. In my opinion I would just buy a new one.

I think it will use a standard generic probe for the Accu-Temp. Sorry I couldn't help. Take care.

SOURCE: Need to change bulb inside Amana radarange RR1220

There is an access / cover panel on the back of the oven.

It's shown in the exploded view here.

Please unplug the oven from the wall first.

Then use a 1/4" nut driver or socket to remove the screw in the end of the lamp cover.

The bulb is behind the cover, and should be readily available at grocery stores, home improvement centers, hardware stores and big box stores like Wal-Mart.

SOURCE: steam gets in the door and how can we clean and prevent?

This is usually due to incomplete venting or impaired air flow.

Assuming your hood vent exhaust fan is running properly, be sure your grease filter is clean (or if you use a charcoal type, it must be replaced when dirty) and be sure the exhaust ductwork and outside flapper are all clear.

I recommend that you always run the hood vent exhaust fan whenever you are cooking on the stovetop, too.

You can find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and part ordering help here. You can get new filters there, too.

I recommend that you bookmark that link to your favorites.

Hi Kevin,
Call a local appliance parts house. If you don't have one near by, call Appliance Factory Parts in Denver @ 303-761-1111. They should be able to cross that part for you... BTW...... good trouble shooting!!! PS, you might find that the blower motor is bad after all this..... check it first..... around 9 to 30 ohms??? I haven't metered one in years.....

Amana MVH210W keeps blowing fuse

The magnetron is more than likely the problem, or the inverter board if oven is 7 years old or less. If you have a digital meter you can do a rough test on the magnetron, unplug microwave, set meter to ohms, disconnect one wire from magnetron and put the test leads across too points, if reading is .2ohms or less it is good, but if the test shows infinity or open the magnetron is bad, keep in mind it may have a short making the reading misleading.

My Amana Radarange over the stove microwave started to omit a "burnt rubber" smell and stopped defrosting or heating anything all of a sudden. Model #MVH15W. Still works otherwise, lights on...

You're describing a common smell that goes along with a magnetron tube that has failed. The magnetron tube makes the microwaves, and will eventually fail if you keep a microwave long enough. They can fail in a couple of different ways, and one is to short out accompanied by that burning smell. It's probably not worth trying to repair your oven because of its age. I don't believe the magnetron is available any longer. If it is, it will be costly, and replacing the tube is best left to a professional because of safety concerns. Your most economical choice would be to replace the oven.

Magnetron? Not heating food anymore.

Yes, The magnetron (the part that heats the food) may be bad or the circuitry to the magnetron may have burned out. Basically my advice is that if you have no electrical expertise, it isn't worth fixing. The magnetron if bad, costs almost as much as a new microwave. If you open it up (make sure it has been unplugged for a few hours and don't seen any obvious burnt parts, then most likely the magnetron is done and a new microwave is the way to go.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Mwave made loud buzzing noise then didn't heat up anymore

When there's a loud buzz like that, it does not heat, and does not blow the fuse, it is usually a defective magnetron. Did it sound something like someone making a "gurgling" sound into a coffee cup? I think this has a a one-year warranty, with n five-year warranty covering the magnetron.
