take the drain plug out and remove the hair. Once you remove the hair from the drain your water will drain from the shower.

It'll take a very small, flexible snake to get around two abrupt 90-degree corners.

get a new plug making sure of correct size. if with a chain, remove the old and install new.

adjust the chain so that the flapper is not lifted so high. adjust it so that the flapper lifts high enough that the water pressure going by the flapper keeps it open long enough for the tank to empty. when you get it to do this then cut the excess chain off if it is excessive. please feel free to give me a positive rating. thanks!

No, not without sealing, I mean clogging, the drain. Do you know exactly where the leak is coming from? I would suspect that the water is getting around the drain, instead of down the drain. The visible part of the drain should unscrew from the part that is underneath. That bottom part is likely permanently sealed to your drain plumbing.
You may be able to easily fix your leak by:
#1 Unscrewing the visible drain top.
#2 Replacing the washer under that top. This will seal your tub to your drain. All water will then be forced to flow down the drain properly.
#3 Screw the top of your drain back into place WITHOUT folding or wrinkling the new washer.
