SOURCE: acer aspire 3003wcli keyboard stopped responding

You probably activated the "Num Lock" accidently. Just hold down the FN and look for the key that says "num lock" Now you should have your keyboard back and the numbers will just type when you hit the numbers key. I did this to myself yesterday!

SOURCE: cannot use letters of my laptop unless use fn key but not capital

You need to press the NumLock key to get the keyboard to get back to alphanumeric - it has a symbol of a lock with a number 1 on it. A LED should also go out/icon in your tool tray should disappear as well.

Number locked letters become numbers

By pressing and holding down the Fn key which is located at the bottom left hand side of the keyboard next to the control "Ctrl" and press the F11 button will revert those numbers back into letter and pressing and holding the Fn key again and press the F11 will turn them back to number. Any further assistance please ask, Kronoguy

Hi I am using ADESSO WKB-4000US on my new tablet PC. I cannot use the letter U,I,O,J,K,L,M. only numer 4,5,6,1,2,3,0 is display. What shold I disable to make it function as std kb

Hi thanks for your question.
Somewhere on your keyboard there a key that says 'num lock' on it usually on the right upper side of keyboard. Sometimes you need to press 2 keys together to dis-activate it. For example Fn key and Num Lock key. Once you got it dis-activated you should be able to use you normal letters.

I have an Asus X58L laptop, For some reason there is a letters lock and I do not know how to unlock it. So if I press letter u it gives me 4, if I press p it gives me - and so on, unless I press Fn button

It sounds like you have the num lock switched on, most laptop keyboards are too small to have a separate numeric keypad so use the letter keys on the right side of the keyboard for this. (you should note numbers as well as the expected letters on the face of these keys).

To turn off the num lock, hold down the Fn key and press Ins. (located top right of the keyboard).

Hi, your Laptop has a integrated keypad. You or someone else might of turned this on, thankfully it is easily fixed. Just follow these steps,
1. Find and press the "Fn" key.
2. Find the F11 key there should be in blue letters "NumLk"
3. Press F11 while holding down the Fn key.
This should turn off the integrated keypad
