I purchase a brand new Pioneer vsx-534 back in April 2019, the system is still under warranty nowadays. A couple days ago I was just watching random video on youtube and suddenly my AV receiver just stopped working. The sound was at a reasonable level, nothing too demanding. Now when I try to turn on my AV receiver, the volume show up and the FL off light start blinking and then shut back down after 3-4 seconds. I contacted Pioneer, they told me to go to a service point to make the repair, the thing is that the closest repair point is 11 hours away from home. I contacted the service point and they told me that I need to pay the shipping to ship them the unit... Costing around 70$ CAD. Any good alternative? I mean I know a little bit of this stuff so I can easily open the unit and try fixing it myself, I'm just not sure where to start. It's totally not acceptable that I need to pay for something that is still under warranty. The unit is 300$ brand new, i'm not going to pay 1/3 of the price to just ship it out... please help

JUST PRESS ADVANCED SURROUND & ENTER FOR LIKE 3 SECONDS.. THAT WILL RESET THE SYSTEM CHIP INSIDE.. :)
I am assuming the light that is flashig is the "MCCAC" light on the front display. Supposing this is correct you have either a blown amplifier (one or mor channels) is the protection circuitry is not operating correctly. In either case the receiver has locked up to prevent any additional damage. There is a key sequience that needs to be preformed to unlock the unit so a technician can troubleshoot the problem. In most cases a blown amplifier should be in the $150.00 dollar range to get repaired. This is a fairly high end Pioneer receiver and is probably worth repairing, or at least finding out what the repair will cost.
