I have a lg TV when I switch from cable box to tv my xr2 remote will not change channels why everything else works is there a special code have to be entered if not what do I have to do to get it to work

Your XFINITY remote can be paired with XFINITY X1 TV boxes, allowing you to control the TV box even when it is placed out of sight, such as in an entertainment center or in another room (up to 50 feet away). XFINITY remotes can be identified by the model number on the back panel or within the battery compartment of the remote.

I pushed code search different blink appeared pressed tv press code then use on buttons. On all the code

The two possible reasons are:

1. None of the codes are correct for this model.

2. The remote infrared receiver in the set is bad.

(maybe the reason the other person got rid of the set?)

There are some ways around this depending on how you hook up and what you have for signal:

If a box (cable or sat) is connected to one of the sets of audio/video jacks on the set--switch to that input and change channels etc with the box!

Use the box remote for functions like channel and sound etc.

On the tv remote look for Mode Select, move switch to TV then "03" then press enter. Then pick up cable remote make sure the "cable button lights up ( by pressing on cable button at top) then you press guide...Voila!

HDMI sends video from a source likea bluray player or 'cable box' to tv it will not send signal so you can program channels from it

turn tv to the HDMI input you plugged device into and watch cideo from that source

you will need to connect some type of antenna to be able to program channels on tv

very few tvs need channels programmed these days since most people hook up a cable or sattelite receiver and change channels that way

You will need to program it to your cable box to change channels. Remember, the channels in your tv are coming from your box, so if the remote can't control the box, you won't be able to change channels. Call charter for help on programming remote to cable box.

You may be able to program your cable box remote to control your TV in addition to your cable box. When they initially set up your cable box they probably left a pamphlet giving you instructions on how to program your remote. I'm not sure why you can't change the TV channels manually but this may give you a work-around.

If you have a cable box (otherwise known as a set-top-box) that you have to turn on when you turn the tv on, and you use to change your cable channels, the LG remote will not control it. The LG remote is strictly for the tuner built into the television, and is not capable of controlling the cable box.

You probably see "function not available" because you are viewing the picture on an external input of the tv (component, composite, etc). Your tv cannot tune stations in when it is set to an external input that you use to watch DVD's, cable boxes, games, and other devices. The tv is telling you that you can't change channels if it is on an input.

maybe you programmed it with the wrong code sometimes that happen try the other codes that come with it make sure everything works before you think u got the right one.
