Sounds like a power supply failure. I think you need a service call to let a tech look at it. I googled around and couldn't find a free service manual, but if you're technical and have a 'scope, you might try that route. At $400, I'd try to get it fixed if I were you.

SOURCE: When the power switch is turned on the amp just has a loud hum and nothing works not even the little power indicator light..

You have a bad ground probably inside the amp , you need a on hands Tec for this one. I bet its not to serious , about $65.00, is it worth it to ya all tho I don't know your area , but its been my exp.this would be a fair price most any where. good luck DFD

SOURCE: the power of the Peavey Escort 3000 Portable PA

A failure probably occured in one of the power amps and has blown the fuse or worse. DO NOT replace the fuse and try to operate it as further damage may occur. Take it in for repair.

SOURCE: i have my pc hooked via 1/8" to 1/4' to my europower pmp518m and my sound is very low, but my mics are very loud (need music loud also)

The 1/8 jackon the PC is Stereo so you would need a stereo splitter to then go into separate jacks or maybe tape input on the PMP. Plugging in a mono jack shorts out one side of the PC audio out. Make sure you use a splitter type and NOT a 1/8 to 1/4 stereo cable. It must split into TWO cablles to plug into the PMP.

I want to record using Tascam with my peavey xr1220 mixer

What Tascam recorder are you using? If you are multitracking you will be unlikely to be able to use this mixer. Otherwise get a phono lead to fit the tape out and suitable connections for the Tascam recorder at the other end. This will allow you to record the main mix but unless you are a solo act or putting everything through the PA this will probably be pretty useless to you.
