H710 I can hear but no one can hear me

On my Motorola H710, from time to time the mic will stop picking up sound. I can still hear through the ear speaker, but the voice command nor a person that I've called can hear me.

I have placed the H710 on the dash of my truck all day in the sun and it seemed to fix the problem. But this time nothing is making it better. If I yell, I can get it to hear me.

Is there a way to clean out the mic?

The microphone no longer works. Don’t know if you can change the Microphone of your headset through some authorized service personnel or not.

It is very possible that you have a dust particle lodged in the area of the microphone. The microphone itself has a TINY hole that the sound goes through. A piece of dust lodged in the hole will ruin the sound reproduction. If you examine it with a magnifying glass, you may find the something sitting there.

I believe this device carries a 1 year warranty from Motorola. Here is a link to the H710 support page.

Does it have a mute button because person on phone cannot hear me but I can hear them.

Tap both volume buttons to mute/unmut. If that does not solve it i have heard many accounts of these headsets having back mic's.

    Headset won't turn off

It sounds like you have a defective unit. When you close the mic boom, the headset should turn off.

    Motorola HS850 Headset gone silent

I bought a new HS850 and guess what, I got this hearing problem on the very first day ...phew ! I did the pairing with my Motorola A1200 phone and it worked for once, even the sound was coming in the earpiece and then I put it to charge for the first time and once done, I again started it up and it got connected with the phone and after that there was no sound in the ear piece. I was going nuts....about what could be the problem.

So i decided to delete the earlier paired profile from my phone and do the pairing again and guess what...It Worked....:) So you can try that out too....
