Likely the capacitor pack is kaput but can be other. Tjese can be found on eBay or Amazon. Capacitors are model specific.

Be sure reverse switch is not mid position. Check for power at fan pull chain.

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.

SOURCE: Troubleshooting for ceiling fan

There should be a receiver wired from the fan to the ceiling. Take this out and wire the fan direct to the ceiling. Using the pull chains see if it works, if so, you just need a new receiver. hope this helps

Light will not turn off using the pull chain. I have replaced pull switch but makes no difference. ???

Sounds like you bought your Hunter at Home Depot or Lowes, Take it back and get yourself a good fan, one with at least a 13 degree blade pitch.

Hunter ceiling fan light will not turn off when I pull the chain. No remote. I replaced the switch, thinking that was the problem, and still the light won't turn off. I have to keep the lights on if I want...

Make sure it's wired correctly to the fan.The light should turn off when you pull the chain weather you have a remote or not. Also the model of the fan should be 5 digits starting with a 2.

My control won't activate the light on my Hunter fan. The light comes on via pull chain fine, and the control works the 3 speeds on the fan, but the light won't respond.

Check the wiring on your receiver to make sure the light wire is connected. You have to have the light on with the pull chain and then use the remote to turn it on/off.

I have a Hunter fan with remote. The fan or the light comes on by itself with no one around

See my post below: (Sorry, we're in the same boat)

Hunter ceiling fan with remote, have 5, 4 are seriously impaired! Lights dim to half strengh after variable time 10 seconds-30 minutes. And lights or fan turns on randomly (come home & fan on full blast), and one in which the lights won't dim (just blinks when try to dim)! Hunter "kinda" admits there is serious problem with remote but doesn't have a solution. Tells people to try changing to different code due to possible interference (pain in **** to change code on ceiling base!), was totally ineffective. Then replaced receiver in ceiling base (another total pain) in 3 fans with new ones sent Hunter, still totally useless. Hunter's suggestion, don't use the remote, just use the pull chain. If I had wanted a pull chain fan, I'd have bought a pull chain fan. TOTALLY USELESS! Moral of story: If you want a remote ceiling fan (my friend found out that all their remotes are made by the same company in Taiwan), don't buy Hunter!!!!! P.S. I found a "Kinda"- fix for the lights dimming to half strenth. After turning on the lights, wait 1 second, then dim lights slightly, they will then stay on the strength that you dim them to. - P.P.S. When I changed the receiver in the one where the lights won't dim, it "solved" that problem...Now it has the same problem as the others, lights or fan turn on randomly!
