SOURCE: front panel display dim, can't see the

Hi,

I see this post has been here for quite some time. Sorry you haven't had an answer yet, while I can't say why, If you still are inquiring, the problem lies in the control and harness assembly. In my professional experience with almost all thermador of this era it's sometimes a bad solder on the control pin connector from the display,(which can be fixed by a proficient soldering person or conversely destroyed by a poor one) a bad transformer integrated onto said control, or other times just a bad harness, you'll likely need a control in any event. When you purchase a control ( # 1051714 for 302-double or 1051712 for 301 single oven models, and around $200US check your local parts depot or service center.) they should have new harness enclosed in the packaging of the control.

I just joined here less than a month ago, so I'm starting to see alot of post's I haven't seen before (there are many) and likely some may never get answered directly, but alot are the same if you search out similarities.

hope this helps.

**I should add this could be a job for a professional tech, who depending on how proficient they are or how the environment is set up, could handle this in 30-45 min or so. It is quite straight forward for one experienced with servicing thermador units. I would suggest you insist on an authorized b/s/h tech, they tend to have more of the update info if any or reworks etc.**

The above (re: hiring a tech) is just my opinion based on my professional experience and there may be opposing opinions, in the end you are the authority.

hope I've been helpful to you,

Good Luck

Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

SOURCE: Yamaha front panel display dim

Yamaha RX-V661 LCD / Front panel.

Symptom: when you first turn it
on, you can see a VERY little light but after 5 sec, you cannot see it anymore
or for most of us, we started using a flash light. Here is the summary of the solution and I know that it works
because I fixed it today 3/16/2011, 30 minutes ago.
As many pointed out that there is a
"light" 12v - 14v in the back but there is NONE. How do I know? I listened and searched and
there are NONE. The whole LCD in the front is air seal like a light bulb so it
is a light bulb already. Also, you might
see a little burn/gray smoke on the left hand side, don't worry about it
because if the light comes on, it stills work but not enough power. If the LCD
is broken, please don't try by the part and replace it because by the time you
read this, the parts and labor cost as much as buying a new one (on eBay and
not Best Buy).

Problem: in the middle of the unit near the back near the "surround
sound back", there are 3 capacitor rated at (2 units) 35v 220uf 85'C and
(1 unit) 50v 220uf 85'C. What Yamaha did wrong, base on my guess is that they
put the 85'C too close to the heat sink.
The heat causes the capacitor to slowly blown that is why you still get
your power to the LCD but not enough.

Solution: remove the top, unscrew EVERYTHING in the back and there are about 20 ~ good luck. For
those that don't have good memory, please take a picture. There are many plugs inside
that you need to unplug before you can remove 1st layer (audio/ video input)
2nd player (HDMI and Optical input), the last layer you will see 3 capacitors that
are kind of "blown" up (google "bad capacitors" pictures or
video). Remove them then replace them, which you can Google this on tube and
they should teach you how. It was very easy for me but then again, please don't
try to do it if you cannot even change your car oil or build a computer because
I believe that is the difficulty level.

solder iron: $9-$20 get it on eBay or radio
shack

(2 units) 35v 220uf 105'C and (1
unit) 50v 220uf 105'C or what I got was (3 units) 50v 220uf 105'C

I keep the 220uf the same to be
safe but increase the voltage and heat to increase the life of the capacitors.

Good luck everyone,

My woofer will not pair with the sound bar vht215 model

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to pair your woofer with your Vizio VHT215 soundbar:
  1. Power cycle: Turn off both the soundbar and the woofer and unplug them from their power source. Wait for a few minutes before plugging them back in and turning them on again.
  2. Reset the soundbar: Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the soundbar until you see the light on the front panel start to flash rapidly. This will reset the soundbar and put it into pairing mode.
  3. Reset the woofer: Press and hold the Pair button on the back of the woofer until you see the light on the front panel start to flash rapidly. This will reset the woofer and put it into pairing mode.
  4. Check the distance: Make sure the woofer is within the recommended distance from the soundbar. Typically, this is around 30 feet or less.
  5. Check for interference: Other wireless devices or electronic equipment in the vicinity can interfere with the Bluetooth signal. Move any such devices away from the soundbar and woofer, or turn them off temporarily.
  6. Replace batteries: If your woofer uses batteries, make sure they are fresh and installed correctly.
If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact Vizio customer support for further assistance.

I have a Technics SA-AX6 the front display won’t turn on or doesn’t turn on

If the front panel display on your Technics SA-AX6 is not turning on even though you have replaced the display board and verified that the ribbon cable is not broken, there may be an issue with the power supply or the main control board. It's possible that a component on one of these boards has failed, preventing the display from receiving power or a signal. You may need to take the receiver to a professional repair shop for further diagnosis and repair.

How do I connect my ht ct260h step by step, with hdmi input do I use

HDMI can be a bit confusing when first connecting a system. Overall, the HDMI cable system allows for less clutter and digital audio and video, but you need some background to get it right.

The simple answer to your question is that the HDMI on your TV that is labeled HDMI out will go to your soundbar's HDMI input. Now, the reason you have a picture but no sound, will be one of 2 problems. If your TV is labeled with ARC, this means that it has an HDMI with Audio Return Channel and will be compatible with your CT260h soundbar. If you don't have sound, then you need to replace your HDMI cable with a ver1.4 HDMI cable so that ARC is supported in the cable design. If your TV does not provide ARC, then you will need to connect the audio using the digital optical connection which is a fiber optic cable of the TOSLINK variety. This cable should have been included with your soundbar packing.

Also be aware that if you buy a HDMI1.4 with Redmere technology to save on the size of the cable, it has a direction for the signal flow which must be adhered to, otherwise the cable will not pass either audio nor video.

I hope that answers your question.

The message center is not lit up and my speedometer is dim. I checked all interior fuses. Is there a bulb or something inside the dash that needs replaced?

This is a common problem for the digital displays on the Continentals built in the mid '90's. Each section has it's own halogen lamp. Replacing the lamps (if you do one you should do them all) isn't difficult but is time consuming. It involves removing the front dash and panel. The bulbs are replaced from the front. Below is a link with excellent instructions on removing the dash panel. Best of luck! Greg

My Sony CDX-C680...

Hello greggerika,

It's possible that the "illumination" wire is not connected or connected improperly. It's also possible that the front panel electrical connections are not making proper contact. Remove the front panel and gently clean the contacts with a pencil eraser.

Also, the CDX-C680 allows you to select either green or amber illumination. One or the other may be defective. Try changing it. Press SHIFT - press "3" (set up) three times - press "5" (right arrow) to change the setting. Also check the setting for "dimmer". ON will result in a dimmed display at all times. AUTO will dim the display whenever the headlights are turned on (if the wiring is connected properly). OFF will result in the brightest display at all times.

Hope this helps.
