Self Protection Mode.

Probably a cooling fan failure. You need it serviced or fit a new fan.

Projector turns on initially but then cycles off
Projectors may shut off for a couple different reasons. If the projector over heats, check to see if there is enough ventilation for air to be circulated around the unit. Make sure fans are running and that there is no obstruction. Let it cool, clear obstructions and check fans when turning the unit back on. After market lamps may cause an issue. This is a very common cause of a projector shutting off after a short time of being turned on. Aftermarket lamps have the same core but do not use the same housing materials. These materials may not dissipate heat as efficiently as the factory housing and cause the lamp to overheat, when this happens the projector will shut off. It is recommended that an original ViewSonic lamp be purchased.

Thanks Andrew, I have tried with new fans that I have acquired and today the new lamp arrived, I hope that is it, the equipment initially turned on and off at the exact 90 seconds, after I changed the color wheel began to make the fault If it goes off immediately, one second, the lamp starts and goes out, the fans stay on and after a couple of minutes it stays ready to turn on again.

You need to reset the lamp timer. This is likely your problem since you changed the lamp.
Turn the projector on. open the menu. Go to advanced. Scroll down to the first option which should be auto source. Make sure this option is checked. While on this option press right once, left twice, right 3 times, then left 4 times. Another menu will appear. Scroll to lamp time and push enter. This will take it back to zero.

I turn on my Viewsonic PJD6251 but the lamp does not come on, and after a few seconds I get 2 red lights TEMP and LAMP. It is new, only 2 weeks I barely used. Good care.

sounds like a bad bulb

projectors get a resistance reading from the bulb and if it doesnt get right value it will give you the double red lights

only other thing it could be is if the fans in projector are not turning on

call viewsonic and tell them issue and make them resolve issue

or

if unit is only 2 weeks old bring it back to store and get replacement or call viewsonic and get them to send you replacement unit - it is too new to mess with it yourself and take chance on voiding warranty

If you haven't tried it already, unplug the unit, hold down the power button for 15 seconds, release, then wait about a half hour and try plugging the machine in and powering up again. This may reset the memory and enable your projector to start up normally.

Viewsonic PJ556d shuts down after 30-60 seconds

My solution sounds dumb, I had the same issue. Took the lamp cover off the bottom. The screws were loose holding in the lamp. Maybe they heat and expand and eventually work their way out and the lamp doesn't make good contact. Just tightened mine up, the unit would power off after 45 minutes prior. Been on now for 5 hours, no trouble.
