Helly Gary..
It is probably going to be in your safety switch where the nails come out. The lever that pushes up when you press the gun on the wood. It should have come with a new one when you purchased it mine did. If not then you may pull the front off off it where the nails come out and make sure there isn't something jammed up in there like a nail or wood. I had to tighten a screw in the front of the gun too. Being 2 years old, it may just be worn out. pending on how much you use it, But check the safety on it first.

Stuart - this sounds like an air problem - you should perform the following test. With the air nailer close to the compressor you must monitor the airpressure after the gun fires. it sounds like the air is not gettting through diapram fast enough or there is a blockage in line. Blockage in line is not suspected for the following reason . It sounds like the air hose is holding enough air to fire 2-4 nails and then you must wait for the line to fill up again and then it fires ok. The pressure regulator out to the line controls this and they do fail. try this test and report back to me - I know I can solve this for you as I have extensive background in compressor and the like.

SOURCE: Paslode air framer not sinking some nails

If you're rapid-firing, this will happen. You need to let the air chamber fully refill before shooting again.If your gun says "maximum 120 psi" then set your air at 120#. If you have a slow compressor, get one made for the job, or be satisfied with carrying a hammer. You need quicker recovery, or your gun needs servicing/cleaning by a Paslode mechanic.

Try a different gas cartridge and make sure the top of the cartridge is snapped tightly onto the cartridge body.

What causes the nail gun not to fire

Your question isn't specific enough. Multiple things need to work together to fire a gas fired nail gun;
First the obvious user faults;
Low battery
Low gas
Nail guide jam

Not so obvious;
Broken/worn return springs (nail guide and firing bolt)
Faulty micro switches
Bent or impacted internal mechanism
Fan fault
Ignition or spark fault
Dirty or damaged ignition chamber (just like a car piston, cylinder and rings)
Faulty micro controller and ignition circuitry

My paslode IM350 nail gun wont spark but wen i remove the fan cover and unplug the fan it sparks nothing is loose and everything is connected but cant see what the problem is can anyone help thanks

With gun assembled but gas cell REMOVED look at LED on handle, with battery fitted LED will flash. Now press it against work piece, LED will stay lit whilst still watching LED press trigger. LED should blink off (it may blink red) this indicates that the spark unit has sent the spark. If this works it sounds like either the spark lead has been damaged and spark could be shorting across back of cylinder head or you actually have a gas problem. Check cylinder head O ring, use by date on bottom of gas cell. Depending on age of gun it may have another O ring on the sleeve (pre 2006). Check sleeve is clean do not add oil to working parts (except a smear when cleaning sleeve and around O rings when reassembling gun)

Paslode nail gun 325 black not firing

Any time these guns become intermittent or stop firing but the fan still runs, the first the to check is the expiration date on the gas cartridges. The do expire and this will make the gun work inconsistently or not at all.

Paslode framing nailer loss of power.

Here's what I found at the Paslode Troubleshooting Site:
Tool will not cycle - fan runs, indicator light
is solid green.

Lockout bracket is stuck in lockout position.
Work-contacting element is bent, or build-up of
debris in track restricts operation.
Follower is not behind fasteners.
Fuel Cell empty.
Spark wire out of spark plug.
Spark plug is dirty.
No spark is generated.
Check lockout.

Remove and inspect lower probe. Clean and
lubricate track with Paslode Impulse® oil.
Repair or replace lower probe as required.
Position follower behind fasteners.
Replace fuel cell.
Remove cap and check spark lead, insert in
spark plug and replace cover.
Clean tool cylinder head and spark plug.

If this doesn't work, I suggest contacting Paslode directly 800-222-6990
