SOURCE: raising feed dogs

I've always been able to get a free PDF downloadable manual from Janome. They are happy to send you a manual for your specific machine via email, and they've always been very helpful to me. Here's a link to them:

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Feed dogs do not come back up after lowering

Are you talking about the feed dogs or the presser foot. Either way, if you moved a lever to lower them, there is probably a screw that either fell out or has become loose that holds the linkage to the lever.

SOURCE: Lowering the feed dogs on the singer 404

Hi,
This may sound crude, but you can tape a piece of thin cardboard over the teeth. Be sure to make a cut out for the needle with plenty of clearance to make stitches and the cardboard won't interfere.

SOURCE: How do I raise and lower the feed dog on my singer

On your Singer, you don't actually raise / lower the feed dog. Instead you attach a "darning plate" (which should have come with the machine) which covers the feed dogs so they do not come in contact with the fabric. See a page from the owner's manual using this link within my web site: http://www.sewvac1.com/Singer3080_Feed_Drop.pdf

SOURCE: I have a futura ce150

Try lowering the feed dog and then raising it again, but be sure to push the switch over as far as possible. Sometimes the switch will stop just a little short and the feed dog will not be 100% raised but it will seem to be to the naked eye. Hope this helps.

Futura ce-100. Why isn't it feeding the fabric?

they are too new of a machine to need a gear replaced. It should have a button or small lever to lower your feed dogs. sounds like they might be lowered. Turn the machine by hand and see if the feed dogs raise above the needle plate. If not find the switch to raise the feed dogs.

Cannot raise the feed on my Pfaff ambition essential.

Lowering feed dogs You can lower the feed dogs by moving the switch at the back of the free arm to the left. Move the switch to the right if you wish to raise the feed dogs. Note: The feed dogs will not raise immediately when the lever is switched. Turn the handwheel one full turn or start sewing to re-engage the feed dogs.

How to I adjust the feed dog when using the the zig zag feature?

1. The feed dog is adjusted by raising or lowering the length of stitches.
2. The other control that is of concern for zigzag stitches is the width control being raised or lowered.

Singer futura xl-400 should the feed dogs be disengaged when embroidering

ABSOLUTELY! The XL models of embroidery machines are supposed to automatically lower when you put the embroidery unit on, but I have had an XL-400 and currently have an XL-550 and Quintet, and I have noticed on the latter two that the feed dogs have not always automatically lowered. Incidentally, to lower or raise the feed dogs, the lever (it's in the back) goes DOWN and OVER. If you are having problems getting it move, use a straight blade screwdriver and pop the little tip off--it's not necessary to operating the feed dogs.

Also incidentally, when you raise the feed dogs, you have to turn the hand wheel towards (ALWAYS towards you for anything) several times to get the feed dogs to actually pop up. You'll hear when it does that. They lower right away, though.

Singer Sewing Machine model #2638 Does not feed fabric

Here is a link to page 22 of the manual. It shows you where to flip the lever to raise the feed dogs. If your feed dogs are not grabbing fabric your feed dogs are lowered.

Feed dogs will not go up after being lowered even though I turn dial to the correct position

I have the same problem and had to resolve it with a work around until someone comes up with a fix. I manually force the feed dogs up by taking the small singer screwdriver, placing it on the bottom of the feed dogs then pressing them upward.
