This will probably need to be handled by a professional. With this particular Bernina, you might be able to adjust the needle position so that it is slightly off center and will not hit the presser foot. That would be a temporary fix, however. If you want to be able to thoroughly enjoy your sewing time, you will be happier if you take it to a certified Bernina repair site and let them adjust the needle position.

SOURCE: with the bernina activa 230, it will randomly stop

Unfortunately this could be a number of reasons, ranging from simple to hard. Taking the simple first - make sure the 2-pin plug is properly inserted into the machine - if it stops, try wiggling the plug first to see if that 'resets' the machine. If it's OK, it might be the switch on the power supply - I've had a couple that needed replacing, but in all honesty, the problem is probably internal and could range from a poorly-inserted plug on the main control board, to a component problem on the board itself, which could be costly to replace. Is your machine still in warranty (2 years on electronic parts) - if-so, get it checked-out by your Bernina service agent, just in case ... dont go messing-about with the machine yourself. Before doing this ... check exactly what happens when it stops sewing ..... I assume that the foot controller doesn't make any difference ..... check if the sewing light is still on, or the display backlight, and is the display still showing any information, or has it gone blank ? Does it happen on all patterns - straight/zig-zag etc. or a memory pattern ? This may help to identify the likely cause.

SOURCE: My bobbin case jumps out while I am sewing on my bernina 1008.

it sounds like the bobbin case needs to be replaced, have you cleaned under the needle plate & bobbin area for lint & loose threads
I also would suggest to take the machine to a different sewing machine repair shop.

How to Turn Off the Bobbin Sensor in the Bernina Artista 640

make sure you're using the appropriate bernina bobbin, others can confuse the sensor. This video(by Bernina Boys) shows how to clean lint to prevent this problem which is what often causes this error. Or go into settings by pressing the diamond with right hand arrow inside of it. The eye with the speaker next to it should get you where you need to go to turn it off.
The manual on Bernina's website is here:
https://www.bernina.com/en-US/SupportData/BERNINA-Nah-und-Stickmaschinen/artista/Manuals/031508-50-04_0601_a640_EN

page 98 has the information you want.

Can you tell me what the bobbin image on the artista 640 means? It will only sew for a few stitches and then stop

Hi, most likely your bobbin sensor is being blocked by something. Common causes are a dirty sensor. Q-tip on the eye of the sensor inside the bobbin door. Or there is fuzz blocking it. Next take out the bobbincase and the bobbin. Look in the bobbincase and you will see a round spring. This spring acts like a brake for the bobbin. Sometimes these springs will get moved and out of position blocking the little space that the bobbin sensor reads through. Reposition the spring so you can see through it and the bobbincase.
That should do it.
Good luck.
