Hi BruceNmy name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was reading over your post andthe remote has lost function, there are some steps you can do to get yourremote working again. The first thing you will want to do is make sure thereare fresh batteries in your remote, and pull out your smart card on the frontright of your receiver. It will then take you to the System Info screen and youwill see where it says Primary Remote Address on the bottom of the screen and awhite box with a number in it. You will want to grab your TV1 remote and pressand release the SAT button and then the Record button one time and press theselect button. After the screen changes please put back in the Smart Card andyour receiver will reset and acquire the signal and download the program guideand then you will be able to watch and change channels. I will send a link tohelp with these steps. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-setup

Tv2 remote not working tv1 must be on

It sounds like the RCA cable is plugged into TV 2 ports on the back of the receiver.
Depending upon your receiver, towards the center on the back of the receiver, you have 3 rows of colored (2 - Red, White, and Yellow; 1 - Green, Blue, Red). The RCA for TV 1 should go in the middle row. Please let me know if you have further problems. Thanks.

I just purchased two remotes on line. One is a 3.0IR 119946. The other is a 4.0 IR 132577. The 3.0 IR works fine on my model 2700 receiver but the 4.0 IR won't work is there any was to program the 4.0 IR...

Hi, my name is Cheri Torres with DISH Network customer service I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. The 4.0 IR/UHF remote should be able to work fine with the 2700 receiver and you should be able to address it the same way you did the 3.0IR remote. One thing you are going to want to make sure of is that the 4.0 remote is set up for IR instead of UHF, you can insure this by inserting the green TV1 tab into the front of the remote. Once you have the green TV1 tab in you can try to readdress your remote again. I would like to list here for you the instructions for addressing the remote to the receiver just in case you need them. :) I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions feel free to post back here or email me at [email protected].

Instructions for addressing remote to receiver
  1. Go to System Info screen. In order to do this you will want to take out your smart card from the front left side of the receiver.
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  4. Press the pound (#) button
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Can you buy a universal remote for TV 2 to change the channels? My remote for SAT DISH stopped working the lights on the top come on but I can not change the channel, view the guide etc...

The remote is an Ultra High Frequency remote and most universals are IR MAKING THEM INCOMPATIBLE.

Take the TV2 remote into the TV1 location and using the TV1 remote press MENU-MENU. You will now have a screen up that has remote addresses at the bottom. Take the TV2 REMOTE AND PRESS AND HOLD the SAT button on the upper left of the remote until all lights on top illuminate and release. Now key in a two digit number between 1-16 that is not either number on the screen currently and press the pound sign. The SAT button will flash three times now press the record button until the remote addy for tv2 changes to the new number.

You can cancel out of all of these screens with the TV1 remote. Now go to TV2 see if it works. If not try at the receiver. If it works there have Dish send you a new remote.

Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Remote does not work at all

Phil with DISH Network here. Ideally we would want to knowwhat model remote we are having issues with, but here are some steps thatshould help.

Step 1:
Check if the issue is with a specific button. If its just one button that isnot working we need to have the remote replaced.

Step 2:
Check that the correct remote is being used for the TV in this room. Use remotekey (Green "1" or Blue "2 UHF") to confirm itis being used in the correct room. TV1 is located in the same room as your DISHreceiver.

Step 3:
If UHF, check that your UHF remote antenna is securely connected to the "RemoteAntenna" port on the back of your receiver and that the antenna isupright.

Step 4:
If issue is with the TV2 remote, bring your TV2 remote with you to TV1. Access "SystemInfo" at TV1, using the remote that is NOT functioning, pressand release the "SAT" button then press and release the RECORDbutton on remote control.

Step 5:
If the batteries in the remote have not been replaced in the past 60 days, replace the batteries. If the remote doesn't light up after replacingbatteries, have the remote replaced.

Step 6:
Unplug the receiver for 10 seconds then repeat step 4.

Step 7:
If the remote is still not working the issue may be caused by IR interference.Find interference source (back lighting or power save mode on LCD TV's,fluorescent lighting in room, or direct sunlight). Getting rid of theinterference should fix it.

After completing all these steps if you're remote is not working give us a callfor additional troubleshooting at 1-800-333-DISH (3474).

Thanks for being a value DISH Network customer!

Contro;

We will need to set the remote address again. Using the front panel buttons on the receiver press the menu button twice. This will put you at the system info screen. You will see the remote addresses for tv 1 and 2. They will probably both be set to 1 if the receiver reset. Press and hold the SAT button on the TV1 remote until all lights across the top light up and release. Now key in a two digit number between 1 and 16 (for 1-9 precede that numeric with a zero) now press the pound key at the bottom right of the remote numeric keypad. The SAT button will flash three times and press the record button until the remote address on the screen displays the one you entered. The receiver should now be able to be controlled by the remote. If you have further issues let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Hi,my brand new UHF remote wont operate the #2 tv??

Go to the tv 1 location with your TV2 remote. Turn TV1 on and using TV1's remote press menu-menu. You will be at the System Info Screen. Take TV2 REMOTE and press and hold the SAT button on the top left until all buttons on the top light up. Release the SAT button. Now key in a two digit number from 1to 16 and press the # key. The SAT button will flash three times. Now press the record button until the remote address for TV2 changes to the number you chose. When accomplished exit out of the screen with th TV1 remote and you should now be able to control TV 2. As a precaution ensure the remote antenna is on the back of the receiver. If you still have difficulty it may be required to move the remote antenna closer to TV2. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can of further assistance.
