SOURCE: digimax samsung s500 beeps 3 times lens stuck wont stay on

Mine got stuck with lens out. The batteries were new so I never imagined it could be the batteries, but they were cheap ones so I recharged a pair of good ones and once I put tried them on it worked just fine again. Conclusion, the "new" cheap batteries had only enough energy to turn it on and then they couldn't give it enough energy to make it work anymore and that's why I couldn't retract the lens or even turn it off properly. So in your case, try using a couple of good and new batteries.

SOURCE: Panasonic Inverter door stuck

The door latch mechanism is all plastic and commonly breaks. You have to take the cover off and work on it from the inside.

SOURCE: furnace code light flashes 3 times /pressure switch stuck open

Check the intake and exhaust plumbing for any obstructions. I had same issue, turned out to be ice in the air intake plumbing on outside of house. This may be the problem. The pressure switch can be tested by pulling hose from purge motor that goes to switch and applying a small amount of suction. The switch should make a clicking sound.

SOURCE: stuck front passenger seat - wont slide back or forwards due to small screw lodged in floor runner

Be there done that, but with a penny. All you can do is either get real aggressive with a hammer and long metal object as a punch or pull the seat. The seat should have 4 bolts. One at each end of each track. Ising a 1/4 in drive rachet and either a 1/2 or 9/16 socket should work. 1/4 in drive is low profile.. good luck

Holman retractable hose reel won't retract garden

The Booklet says "if the hose retraction wheel is stuck and the hose is fully extended, the wheel still have movement. Grip the hose close to the guide hole and gently pull.
The retraction wheel will give you enough movement to unlock itself before you slowly allow the auto retraction wheel to wind the hose back into the unit."
They also say when walking the hose back to the unit, turn the tap off and press the lever on the watering gun to release pressure on the hose. This makes the retraction to the hose reel a lot easier and prolongs the life of your hose reel.

DVD tray will not go in

To verify there is nothing stuck in your drive, turn off your computer and try manually pushing the tray in GENTLY and feel if there is something blocking the tray moving. If there is nothing preventing the tray from moving manually push the tray in - start your computer and try it again. Use the eject function in windows explorer and try the retract button again. If teh button will not work try pushing the tray in manually again. Once the tray starts moving in it should automatically retract the rest of the way. If the unit will not retract on it's own by either method then the drive should be replaced.

Pressure release valve stuck open

May sound stupid, but did you try tapping it on the side with a wrench or something to dislodge it? If it is the sort that has a pull ring, you sometimes need to push it back in manually.

Trying to fit new pads to vw touran rear axle and have pushed piston back enough to get it off but cant get it back in any further to fit it over new pads and disk, wont fully retract or cant get it to ?

Try removing the brake reservoir cap under the hood where you fill the brake fluid up. This will release some pressure also use a c-clamp if you haven't already to push the piston.

Sony cybershot DSC-W170 lens malfunction

sounds like you have dust, sand of some type stuck in the retracting lense. Ive found someone to tell me to take out my batterys and SD card, then tap the bottom of the camera on a table top. Replace the batteries and power up. Doing this, I was told it loosens up the debri for the lense to retract to close and to open again.

My dc927 chuck is jammed fully open and won't move. How can I lossen it. Regards George

Something I would try:

George, look down the center of the chuck jaws with a bright light. It's going to be difficult to see, but there is an Allen head screw down in there.
Taking the screw out, will afford you the opportunity to remove the chuck from the drill. The drill should have a slightly tapered shaft, and the chuck has a tapered hole to match. It might be stuck on tight. Tap on the back side of the chuck, with a wooden block, and hammer.
(Yes, this may require a helper)

Tap on one side, then the other to try to remove the chuck evenly.
With the chuck off it may release pressure on the jaws. It may not.
In this case the chuck will have to be opened up, (Which will release pressure on the jaws), and the jaws reset.

Rear brakes mini cooper

You rent (or buy) a piston retractor tool. It screws the piston back in place. I found mine for around $50. Saves a lot of time and aggrevation to use the tool.

Glove box is stuck

The lid "locks" into place by two retractable nibs on the outer sides of the glove box that are supposed to retract back into the lid housing when you lift up on the release lever.
If you can get a flat piece of metal like a slim jim down the sides of the glove box lid, you should be able to push the nib back into the housing, thus releasing the lock hold of the lid.
I just had to do this today when my Hyundai Tiburon glove box closed and refused to open agian.
It seems like the latch has a tendency to malfunction after a while and no longer is able to active the retraction of the nibs on each side.
Mine was retracting only on one side, so I could see that it was kind of "trying" to release but was still locked in place.
I hope this helps some
Good luck!

No steam release

I solved the problem, the metal (hot!) release rod gets stuck & needs a little push.
Unfasten the top by prying off the rubber gasket after removing the top. Remove the 2 small phillips screws, then remove the front that holds the nozzle, & remove those 2 phillips screws.
Carefully pry up the top with a putty knife, inside you will see the tip of a metal piston that the plastic release knob is supposed to contact. Set it on its front, & soak the piston with a light household or sewing oil, giving it a few taps with a blunt object occassionaly to loosen, heat up & test before reassembling, but remember, the piston is very hot. When you push on the piston with a screwdriver, it should release the steam, but also stop when you let go. Work with it a little & it will come back to life.
